The owner of Southside only uses Mystik if that means anything. I know nothing about it and have no real opinion or anything but I suppose when you have the means to get, replace, or rebuild whatever you need or want it doesn’t matter anyway - like anything else use good quality and take care of your stuff and it’ll be fine
There are only few refineries that make 2 stroke oil. I think mystik, Yamaha oil is all brewed by citgo

About the most I learned with spectro performance lubricants here is they start with type 4 oil base stocks, and work from there to get their synthetics blending in their own additive packages. Seeing some of the tests they put their oils under in their labs is impressive.

Group 4 - This just means it's a PAO base oil. Synthetic 2-stroke oils are primarily Group 3 (highly refined base oil) or Group 4 (PAO). Some very high end stuff is PAG, but that's overkill for a snowmobile.

Find someone with a lube tech account and order it direct. There is a huge mark up in oil. The oils does not come from Polaris
You cannot buy Polaris oil direct from LubeTech. This is a Polaris only product. LubeTech's private label program is one of the biggest in the industry. They make formulate, blend, and package product for dozens of companies. I compete against them everyday at work and know them quite well.

Virtually every blender makes a 2-stroke oil. Mystik is Citgo, there is no diffrence between the two. Mystik came about because Citgo is a state own company in communist Venezuela. They aren't fond of us ******'s and aren't shy about it. Citgo has tried to create a different brand targeted primarily at retail with the Mystik brand.

I don't know who makes the Yamaha oil anymore. I did at one time, but it's been a while and I'd hate to guess. I do know Yamalube 2-stroke oil is some of the best in market.

Don’t forget the testing they do for all of those companies in their Test Tech facility.

alcohol burns colder. not hotter. keep drinking the poo laid. while it's not good to add alcohol to ethanol based fuel .( more alcohol) more water absorption not hotter burning would be the out come. don't listen to mfg. for the truth. oh our UTV'S are safe? how many fires and death's? just saying.
If you simply add a higher ethanol percentage gasoline in the snowmobile tank without changing the tune or jetting it will make for a leaner AFR and run hotter. Now if the tune or jetting is compensated for the extra ethanol then it will have cooler EGT’s.

Correct. They are very involved in formulation R&D.

Personally, I will never use the Polaris oil but I assume it's a quality product. It's just that it's made by my competitor... :ROFLMAO:
I use to work for Lubetech, they have a lot going to say the least. After using Polaris oil now for over 10 years I believe it’s very good but it’s overpriced.
Who do you work for?

I thought citgo made yamalube forever.

I love Mystik, but it's my competition lol. I would love to see a Mobil 1 full synthetic snowmobile oil, but I'm not holding my breath.

It could be now, I'm not sure. I lose track of these as time goes one. The OEMs switch their vendors all the time. Citgo did a lot of private label at one point, but as a company they are a shell of their former self. They are hemorrhaging money and selling product at prices that indicate they're only looking for cash flow.

Pretty sure citgo was even making yamalube back in the 90's.

Same here, but never saw it yet. I once ran a castrol synthetic I bought while on a bag while in quebec back around 00. It ran great in my 00 ves600. I tried to get some here in the states, and never found it. Apparently it's only available up there. You can buy castor synthetic here now, but its a different oil, and in a totally different labeled bottle.
