Posting this question for a friend he has a 2019 pro RMK 155 with an 850 engine. The bearing on the Q Dr. side of the engine grenaded leaving bits and pieces of the inside of the bearing all over the engine compartment. The stock bearing is a 6205 LU NTN brand bearing and is wondering if a 6205RS VCN bearing is different. Basically is there a difference between the LU abbreviation and the RS abbreviation on the bearing? Will the RS work for substitute?

The LU suffix is a contact type rubber seal.
2RS is also a contact type rubber seal, 1 on each side.

make sure you pick the seal out of the bearing on one side and pack with grease. even on the new bearings. this needs to be part of pre-season service on belt drive sleds. remove the belt and sprockets. pick seal out clean out with brake clean and compressed air and re pack bearing. if you do this you will never have a failure.
