What is the best way to check fuel pressure?

I'm looking to see where my fuel pressure is at as I'm using the OSP surge tank with 255lph pump. I'd like to see if my fuel pressure is high using the OEM FPR.

So, what is the best way to check fuel pressure? Where is the best/easiest place to tie into the system and how best can I check the fuel pressure to see where my sled is at?

I'd assume checking with a mechanical gauge would be easiest? If so, what gauge does a person get from Napa, O'Reilly, or Car Quest?

Thanks!

Can I use a fuel injection pressure tester from an auto parts store?

Guessing best to check after the FPR before the fuel rail?

You say pressure line - would that be the fuel line right off the surge tank or the line right before going into the fuel rail?

Fuel pressure is anywhere from the pump too the fuel rail.Anything before the regulator is on the pressure side. The return line off the regulator will only have pressure on it if it has a restriction and could not return freely. The fuel goes from the pump to the rail and fills the rail from the bottom between the throttle bodies.

I hooked up the fuel injection pressure tester T'd off the line coming right off the barb from the OSP surge tank. The I.D. of the 'T' was 15/64" and fuel line I.D. was 5/16". My fuel pressure read 46psi turning the key (not starting sled). So, does that mean I need to install an AFPR or would reducing any restrictions in the return line lower my fuel pressure?

I did not run the sled. This was key turned w/o starting. I could start the sled the way it's hooked up, but not sure how this gauge would work as it will likely only read the highest fuel pressure? Not sure the gauge would drop off w/o bleeding the fuel from the gauge to zero it out?

What boost line would I pull off?

It should read actual as you have fuel returning. Does the pressure drop on the gauge after you turn off the key or after the pump stops running? Mine won't hold pressure for long.

The boost line is down on the FPR on the left side of the plenum. It's a little grey line.
