It hasnt had spark for some time and recently my buddy gave me a kimpex cdi box to try out i got it all hooked up and checked spark it had great spark for the first pull and then went dead after that does anyone know any possible issues I’ve unplugged it from the harness to rule out any faulty kill switches how would i know if its the stator or coils? Or could it be something else im overlooking

Biggest killer of "spark" / CDI box is Regulator / Rectifier. If you had no spark, installed a new Kimpex CDI, pulled once and had spark, then pulled again and no spark ? Chances are your Reg /Rec is toast and just burnt up the new CDI.... Rule of thumb: Chage CDI..... Change Reg / Rec at the same time.

First of all I wouldn't completely depend on a aftermarket CDI box.
That sled has a closed ignition system. So unplugging the main wiring will cause no spark.
Check your ignition switch, and kill switches. You want to see a complete circuit with switches in the run position. Use a multi meter set to ohms to test.
Check for a broken wire.
Check your coil.
Check test the stator coils. Coil specs are as follows..
White to black= 148 ohms
Red to black= 148 ohms
White to red= 1.92 ohms
Excessive ohms will blow CDI boxes.
Brown is ground. the brown wire grounded to the stator must have a good clean connection, or you will not get spark. ( closed system ).
If ignition switches, wires, and coils test good than try a different CDI.
