I want to buy tires locally. but it just seems like the flippin' things are made of gold and you leave with a nice bent over feeling... Any idea to anywhere where you can buy in Winnipeg getting an old fashioned good deal and without having to resort to purchasing online? Thanks brothers...

dont even consider CALTIRE , there are no bargains there, priced out tires,, twice for two different vehicles, they werent even close to being resonable in price , for the same tire quoted from other places,, they seem to be always busy, but i guess some are easily parted with there money

Bought tires online. As one poster said 1/2 price. Toyos... 711 dollars for 4 tires plus shipping P245 55R 19, Tire rack was the best deal after checking 5 sites. No one around here can compete with that. Off to Pembina Parcel next weekend. Gotta get the winter radials off. Thanks guys.

I'll be in Chicago for a week and will get them installed. Their "out the door" price is $1,115.35 and $1,185.34 with an alignment. Canadian tax/environment fee at the border.

Tires alone are $229.00 for a Michelin LTX M/S2, 275/65R-18-E. Tires alone in Winnipeg are $352.00 or thereabouts including install, etc.

Something to consider. Instead of sending tires to the border (price of tire plus transport) driving down to pick them up and paying GST, it might be cheaper to drive to Grand Forks or Fargo and have them installed.

If you are getting wheels and tires then it does make good financial sense to just ship them up.

KalTire is great they negotiate on price always (make em an offer) and have great products and service and fantastic after sales service often doing things for free sent it happen many times for myself and customers in front of me or after me. They are top notch. Canadian Tire also negotiates on price and service.

I hope your kidding....

x2 on Specialty tire.

I recently got 285/65/17 BFG all terains from West end tire for $270 each.

I'll pay a little extra for the convience. I don't have time to buy in the states and go pick up. I ran my truck over at lunch time and had them put on. Done and done, nice and fast.

Same with my quad tires I just bought. Picked them up from a local guy (best price in the city) and had them swapped over in 20 minutes.

How well do those Duratracs wear? I was debating between those and the Dunlop MTs, but went with Dunlops because they were a bit cheaper. I rotate them every 2 oil changes (10,000 km) and I am very pleased with them. Almost 40,000 km and they're barely half worn. And do spin out quite a bit. :)

I have Duratrac's on 2 of my 3 trucks, and the 3rd truck will get them in fall too. I don't have huge miles on either of the 2 sets I have, but a buddy (3/4 ton) has over 60,000km of gravel roads on his and they will make it till fall. They are pretty worn now, but he's never had a set last this long with the kind of driving he does. Highly recommended.
