Anyone else surprised Polaris or another manufacturer doesn't come out with a new sxs snowmobile? I know skidoo had the Elite for a few years in the early 2000's but nothing since. I would think with how popular they have been in the summer time that someone would try again for the winter months.

Obviously you could tracks on a RZR but I doubt its the same as a snow specific machine.

A 2-seat sled just isn't the same as what sxs would be like....

I love the "plow markers" on the front of the skis. I suppose sitting in the cab you really can't see the skis at all and have no idea where they are pointed without the markers.
Ill bet that bad boy has a good heater and probably a kick ass stereo to boot!

I’m assuming this is all hypothetical discussion! Can you imagine meeting a sxs coming around a corner!
:lol3:

I don’t think we’ll ever see it. Polaris had problems a few years ago with an XLT that had an Extra 12 suspension on it that was over 48” wide and had to provide and update kit to get them under 48’ wide, apparently Wisconsin had/has a maximum width of 48” on snowmobiles!

The ski Doo twin track side by sides are actually very common here in Quebec. There are a few company's doing total refurb and upgrades to them. One company actually is using the 1200 4 stroke for power. There are still a very high percentage of them still in use. Last year my son and I came on one at a stop area near here and it was really cool. Tottaly customized with sound system , rear view camera , all digital gauges and the 1200 motor.

My guess is the snow coupes or whatever they are called are probably used more for promotions for large lodges on a lake or flowage. Like mentioned, they would be way too wide for a trail and here in Wisconsin, totally illegal on our state trails.
