Isn't sled bed made by Newman Manufacturing, and they are filing bankruptcy. So i dont know how quick i would be to buy one. Also we use a 20 foot sled bed for delivering docks and boat lifts and it has probably seen more abuse then most, and it has held up great.

Kevin: I have a 1999 SledBed 12' trailer with a blizzard cover. I never had a problem until last year. I unloaded the sleds and put the tilt back down and the bed and under frame didn't appear to line up. Upon inspection the right side bolt that fastens the A frame in the front -to the trailer bed frame had broken into. Thank God the bolt on the left side held. I can just imagine me going down the road with only the a frame ,while the bed, cover and sleds going wherever. Could have killed someone on the highway. I knew a guy just down the road , so I left it and he did the repair. Purchased a new a frame as this had stress cracks. I also had two new bolts installed at the pivot point . Odd thing was the place where I originally bought the trailer had the A frames in stock. We were told quite a few of these trailers had this problem. SCAREY!!!!!! I must say the trailer has a lot of miles and I still have it and use it regularly. I will replace the bolts again in a couple years, and do a yearly inspection of the underneath. I would suggest anyone with one of these trailers should do a through inspection of the entire frame.

Good luck and hope this helps somebody else. Combat

Do not buy a Sled Bed trailer! I just bought a new 10' tilt trailer and it vibrates. After talking to them and many others this is a very common problem with Sled Bed trailers. They claim the problem is only behind Chevrolet SUV's (I have a 2005 Tahoe) but I have also pulled it behind a Jeep Grand Cherokee and also a 1/2 ton Chev pickup and it vibrates behind all of them. I brought it back to them and they could not fix the problem. And to top it off, on January 3 2006, they filed bankrupcy. RUN very fast away from that deal. I had a very good experience with a Tritan trailer in the past.

I have a 2005 14' V-Nose dual axle Sled Bed Trailer with a SnoCap cover and it has performed flawlessly winter and summer. Probably about 6k miles in towing and not a vibration or problem at all. I'd buy another one, but not if they are going bankrupt. I had not heard that.

My Triton towes awesome behind a full size truck. I towed it once last year w/ a Durango, and it vibrated the whole time.

Sled Bed and Blizzard MFG. are the same exact trailer...My friend has a 3 place dual axle sled bed...and he has over 8,000 miles on that trailer....it just needs regular maintance items..like tires and bearings. I have a Blizzard 4 place trailer that has over 5000 miles on it, and it has not let me down yet.

Just make sure the trailer is at least a 2002 or newer..the older ones did have problems..they are still being made today..Newmans filed for bankrupcy when Blizzard starting coping there design.....Both companys went their own way..but still use the same exact design...Alot of people like Blizzard trailers in NY..
