I had an XCR 800 with grippers that just barley fit in the bed of my truck. When in a 2 place clam shell trailer the grippers would sit just over the top of the sled next to it which had the standard IQ skis that come on the SBA.

 

Good to know. I think the grippers are 6-3/4" wide so I'm thinking that's the max I'd be able to do. But what's an extra 1/4" on each ski? Lol

I have 8" wide C&A MTX on my '13 SBA and it fits in my truck.

 

I have grippers and powder pros and they are both 7", have not tried the grippers yet except in my back yard, on grass...!

 

I know the ski topic has been beat to death, but in my indecisiveness, I would like to know the dimension of a few of the top powder skis:

SLP Powder Pros : 7"?
Polaris Grippers : 7"?
C&A XTX : ?
Powder Hounds : 8"?

Wider is better, right?

Another thing, I had a set a of C&A Razors and they would get this weird dive effect where one ski would dive in the snow, then vise versa until you powered out of the isolation. Any one have this problem with the above skis?

The C&A XTX Skis are 7.25" wide and our MTX skis are 8" wide as mentioned above. If you are planning on doing alot of boondocking with your sled you may want to consider our new BX (Boondocking) skis. These are 7.25" wide as well, but have some unique features that make this great for backcountry riding.

 

That 'diving' effect you refer to does happen with Powder Pros in certain condition.....mainly when there's a crust on top of the snow. Grippers don't seem to do it.....at least in my experience.
