called royal up to see if they had a track for my sled , gave them the part numbers for the ones i want, they said no problem we have them ..... took the afternoon off friday drove up.. no track, i'm so sick of the people there the one gut sais they showed it in stock but he couldn't find it and i have to say he did look the other little f#@k they sent to the storage to look was gone all of 2 minutes ( he must have looked hard ) just another waste of time and they could not care less...... :banghead: anyway point of my rant earlier in the week i checked into having my track fixed at central ont track repair , decided to replace it . so since i was already in barrie i called them they said they could get it .. would take about an hour and heres the kicker it was cheaper ... lesson learned ,, always check around never assume royal is a good price .

ok rant over..

If you live near them they usually have large stock then it's good. I am not impressed with store though and have found most local guys who deal with same suppliers (Gamma,Kimpex) as Royal does will match or beat their price plus no driving or shipping costs. Studs and track better $ than Royal this year.

i hear these stories about royal every single day...some things they have are a good deal...mainly clearouts on super old stock they bought from a supplier, but they hire little dumbass kids that have never changed a spark plug in their life, let alone rebuilt an engine or anything like that. we beat royal every single day of the week on pricing. royal sucks! lol

You got that right... none of the ppl in there know fuck all about sleds or ATV's... at least when I worked there back in the day most of the ppl knew something about the sport.. even the women who worked there knew how to fit someone for a helmet!, not now :frech32: The Barrie store is a real dump now too... you can't find anything in there because they've got shit cramed where ever they can fit it

Not for long.
They are building a new facility.
I buy from my shop, I don't make a special trip to go to Royal.

I have delt there for years and have never had a problem. From where I live to order a part one day and I get the next and pay a $12 shipping chage is @#$% all. Even if a part may be a few $'s less somewhere else and it usually is only very few less, the convienience of having it shipped to my door is worth it. I think to bad mouth a supplier as big as Royal is wrong because I'll bet you will be back there one day needing a part for your 1980 something sled and will find it takes a life time from a dealer. :frech32:

Keep up the good work Royal Dist.

I talked with a guy last night who was there yesterday. He said 2 girls on the cash and about 50 people in line! Merry Xmas :banghead:

the dawg :beerchug:[/b]
was there a few weeks ago and there were 3 cashes open but the line was still massive... almost need one of those 'take a number' setups there :)

but ya.. the barrie store wasn't overly impressive... VERY rammed...only been once but I envisioned a bit more of a 'browsing' type format... like a princess auto....

I guess I've always been lucky at the Guelph store...granted there are always some kids working that are inexperienced, but there always seems to be one of the "veterans" around to assist...they even let me go into the back to find a brake cable to fit my Rupp last year! Even when it's busy I've never had to wait in line more than 5 minutes (sometimes longer in the parts line, because it's not set up very well!)...and it's great to look at all of the old sleds up in the rafters!

The Barrie store can be a complete zoo and I never trust their stated inventory!

What I do now is call the 1-800# and order the parts I need from the warehouse. I then have my order shipped to the Barrie store for customer pick up (free shipping). I then pop into the store on the way to the cottage on Friday night and grab my stuff.

Works great.

Agreed!!
I'm sure things will be much better in the new location.
I go to Guelph and love it! The new place in Barrie is probably being built to improve customer service and satisfaction.

personally i love royal, i havent found anywhere you dont need to call a week ahead to get somthing ordered, you can walk in with a list of stuff and walk out with most of it, ive bin screwed a few times, like the day i went home with the wrong carbides, wrong speedo key, and the wrong seet cover, but that was couse the guy at the counter came straigh out of burger king and had no idea.

the other week when i walked in there i it was empty, me and a freind sat and talked to the guy at the counter for probably 30-40min and he had a kawi parts sled he would sell and gave me his number. i left with eveything i needed, and what i cant get most of the time i can stop at the yami dealler on my way home and get lucky.

now, trying to buy a coat there, pisses me right off, the lady there had no idea, would walk off for 40min while im standing there waiting for the damn coat in 1 size bigger, i turn around and shes puttin some boots on an old man, i ask her where my coat is, but she forgt, so 30min later the coat comes back one size smaller, not bigger.

i love and hate that place.

Royal is good for some stuff....but I always get my stuff (KIMPEX) from Canadian Tire or my local sled parts yard....

Mail order is O.K but the Barrie store F'n sucks![/b]
I have had decent luck with Royal over the years....however there is one guy who works in the Barrie store who is just plain rude.

My brother went into the Barrie store about 8 years ago to outfit his whole family and they were rude ...so he walked out and went to Coffey's instead. You would think they would stand on their head when a new rider walks in and is prepared to spend a few grand outfitting his family. :dunno:

For the most part they are a good outfit and serve a purpose when the dealer parts/clothing are too much$$$. :div20:

I'll agree with Justin and Kevo .

The Sudbury Store went downhill FAST after our original group of employees decided to leave . I was there when the store first opened it's doors and I stuck with it up until 2 years ago .... we actually had guys and girls that rode sleds, ATVs , dirtbikes and street bikes ... guys that knew their shit and girls that knew just as much . Justin , I'm sure you knew some of the guys that worked there from the start ... Stevie Johnston , Adam Peloso , Rob Lair , Dan Rouleau , Greg Will , etc . . After I left , Christine took over managing the place and then she quit when head office decided to fire all her staff when she was on holidays . After that day everything went downhill ..... they went through 4 managers in the first 6 weeks ... they hired Ian Hayden as a manager ... that lasted a whole 3 weeks ... they brought up some fucknut from Guelph who thought he was king shit cause he had his head so far up the owners ass that he could spit for him . They litterally went through 20 employees in the first 2 months that they " restructured" . I hear horror stories comming out of that place on a weekly basis . Old customers of mine that were loyal to the store and shopped nowhere else .... now they will not step foot into the doors of Royal in Sudbury . :frech32:
You can go into the Sudbury store now and ask for a part and they'll look at you with a dumb look on their faces .... they know jackshit .... they hired people that have never thrown a leg over any kind of machine ... they hired people that are into import cars not sleds or streetbikes . :dunno:

I've heard many , I mean MANY horror stories come out of the Barrie story . Not too many people are happy with the service they've received from them . Once again .... they have know-it-all people working , that don't have a clue about anything . Plus their managers think they are king of the world ... but that's what you get when you have a mother and son that are manager and assistant manager !!!!

The one thing that Royal brought to Sudbury , was competition . Prices were sky-high before the doors opened in Sudbury ... but things quickly became in-check with prices soon after . Now any dealership in town will beat Royal's prices ...Sudbury Cycle will usually beta the prices by 10% or more , Northland offers No Tax Sundays , etc . Royal now offers bad service and higher prices .

Like it was said , the only thing they offer that beats everyone elses prices are their discontinued stuff ... that's OK if you like wearing a sledding jacket from the mid 90's that has some nice bright pink and yellow colors on it !!! :banghead: I still prefer Sudbury Cycles deal on a discontinued sled jacket ... Reima Warrior jacket ... regular $600+ for $89.95 !!! :div20:
