I just put a snostuf rumble pack and a new track with 168 studs on my 98 zl5 carb and I noticed it delays quite a bit getting off the line, it crawls for about a second until it gets to about 5-7 mph then just takes off. I looked at the plugs and they looked nice except they were completely dry. So the guys I was with think I should go aboutr 2 jet sizes up. But if I can gain some performance by going even richer I would rather do that.

your a fucking idiot dude, dont jet up. you will be ever slower than you are now. jetting up has NO EFFECT for off the line, only 3/4-WOT throttle. if anything, play with your air screws. but do whatever you want. take studs out too, way to many, 96 for you

obviously you have no idea what you are doing

you can eat a bag of shit, if I knew what I was doing I wouldn't be asking smart ass :frech32:
so what should I do to the air screws

so if I get a track with 96 studs and a 1.25 in lug wut kinda difference am i gonna notice[/b]
just take studs out of the track you have. and remember, dont change your jets, just adjust the air screw in or out. go one way first to see if its better or worse. you will feel right away if you went the right way to the wrong way.

I see you're having fun with the editing "shucks" too :drunk:
I talked to my mechanic today and he said it sounds more like a clutching issue :dunno:[/b]
yeah its definately not a jetting issue. have you recently put in new springs? sometimes taking the clutches off, cleaning them, and installing new springs makes a world of a difference...

you think I'm that smart? :beerchug: I haven't ever even tried to touch it, but I am planning on getting a racing clutch kit over the summer, the fact that it starts out so shucksty and has such a great top end makes me fairly sure it's clutch, I'm not familiar with air screws, where are they and what do they do
heres a little video that should show just how bad it is, I'm holding it wide open the whole way
I crawl off the line and then all of the sudden you feel the full power and the skies pop way up

LMFAO! Kid can't take a hint of what was recommended here. Good luck learning. Your dealer just wants to sell to stuff you don't need. Try what is recommended first here. Then what your dealer wants to sell you.

my dealer happens to be a very good family friend so that's out of the question
so what exactly was hinted that I'm not considering

Check your clutch springs, buds sled was similar with a broken primary spring, starting off in too high of a gear. If not play with the air screws and see what happens. Just remember to try small turns and remember where it's set at now by counting turns. Remember that it's free to look and adjust.

There is a host of knowlege here but you have to take it and apply it as well, your computer is not going to fix your sled but it can help point you in the right direction.

Good luck.
