need input on the best for a advance beginer or low intermediate mountain rider
occasional trip out west in canada or east coast with some trail riiding
i saw that the Khaos Slash might be more playfull or tendency to lift the skis vs Pro
what about the climbing ability

thank you

The pro likes to keep the skis more planted and is very predictable. The khaos can be set up for mild to wild and it does like to lift skis as it was built to be more playful than the pro. For a person new to mountain sleds the pro is probably the better option. For a new rider probably a good idea to get in your thought process that either of those sleds will climb into places you probably shouldn’t be without some experience.

I would definitely try out either sled. I ride a Pro-Ride RMK and Axys and the new Slash or Khaos feels like it just wants to fall over so easily that tended to over ride it and fell off a lot. Feels like it’s got a 24” front end on them.

I think the whole “playful” label is just marketing. We never heard the word before the Khaos came out and Dan from Nxt Level used that word about 100 times per episode. They needed to make it seem like these sleds are the solution to all riding problems but truthfully, an low to average rider (myself included) can’t make the sled look like we see on YouTube. Will it help some, of course, but a highly skilled can make sleds do things that were once thought impossible.

I would say the Pro RMK will be better for climbing, riding trees, and getting on top of the snow. The Khaos is a meadow mashing machine and will wheelie a lot easier stock than the Pro. One is more technical and the other is more playful. Here’s a great comparison video from Brett Turcotte…
