Been a lot of P22 issues , clutches exploding , bolts breaking etc. personally I haven’t had any issues but I do check clutch bolt torque every couple rides.
Almost 700 miles on my 23 Boost. No issues at all. I checked bolt torque at a few miles though and again just recently. My P-22 also had .020" belt side clearance using the good 2325 original drivebelt. Most didn't. This resulted in some incidents of hanging idle. I never had it. But, I also realigned my way too far forward twisted engine before riding it. I've also cured the hanging idle on some 23 Boost sleds after doing this. The later P-22 clutches apparently were re-shimmed and went to a .037" narrower 2348 and .30" shorter drivebelt due to failure to reliably/consistently build the P-22 and install the engine properly. IMO, this created lost low gear and top end performance. Most riders probably never knew it.
Sorry for the added details, but hopefully it helps to see where some of the problems may have started.
The jury is still out. I’m still seeing P22’s sent into orbit. Challenge is if they have all the updates or not. Seems the CarbonSled connector and the FireNIce ARP bolt are the aftermarket fix (still theory but not seeing them go). I’ve been just running the 25 update and re-torquing and so far no issues. This summer the P22 will get worked over with an aftermarket treatment.
I compared the P-85 on my 2019 850 numerous times against the P-22 on my 23 Boost. Proper belts at proper deflection. P-22 was much faster. Start to finish. I did NOT switch clutches from one sled to another. But there was a hp advantage of about 15-20 for the Boost.
You need to realize that a P-22 from a 23 sled may be shimmed differently than a 24-25 due to using different belt widths and lengths. A P-85 is shimmed for a 1.47" wide belt. A P-22 can be shimmed for 1.47 to 1.10" depending on belt used.

On the other hand since you feel the wider 23 Boost belt is fair game then why not compare the p85 with a superior belt that is readily available? Your way of thinking isn’t the same as it used to be, it’s time for you to hang it up.
I believe it also has a softer compound and grips better. My 24 Boost with a p85 and 25 flash loves it.

i have a 2019 xc 850 drag sled. i have a brand new p-22 and the stock p-85. i have tried every belt for it, and with the very same set up the p-85 is faster. the p-22 is on the bench. i ran a tied on this sled. #1 phil is you actually have to ride your sled. more then 20' down the lake. if you ride like a sally then no wounder you aren't having issue's? a lot are because they use there sleds for actually trail riding, and lake racing etc. try airing you sled out and landing on the throttle and see how well the p-22 holds up. this is how a lot of guys ride. you know actually pounding on there sleds. not every body sits in the middle of there wheel chair, my bad sled and rides on smooth surfaces.
