T-25 and T-40 torx are most common as well as 10,12,15mm sockets/wrenches. Aside from those items the usual things like combination tool (leatherman) cable ties, some wire, rope etc.

 

I posted this last year and stand by it. I've figured out how to create additional space this year and I'm adding more items. Just in case. I know you can't do much for trailside repairs anymore, but it's nice to know I have some options to patch something up well enough to get home or to a reasonable pickup point. I ride in the UP a lot with sketchy cell coverage and towns that often shut down at 9 PM.

I put all the tools in the tool kit and that sits on the bottom and sort of acts as a cushion. Everything else sits on top. As Fast Polaris said, it all sits under the seat, and I hope I never need to use it. If I do, there's enough in there to make a half ass repair to likely get me out of the woods and someplace safe.

Keep in mind there's a T40 on the spark plug wrench

 

I bought the tool kit that Polaris sells. So far…knock on wood…haven’t used it. It fits nicely in the tunnel bag.

 

Carry the Allen and wrench for secondary adjustment. And I recommend keeping and extra adjuster bolt and nut with you just in.case. Small and cheap item to have that I’ve Actaully used more than once on mine and other sleds

If you primarily boondock or mountain ride a spare brake lever and throttle lever/pin/c-clip. At least in the truck.

Was gonna say - I noticed the ski doo kit has a spring hook tool, wouldn’t have thought of that one….

 

I just put together my tools purchase for my emergency tool kit. I still have a few items I need to buy for it. Assuming I can fit everything in the rear storage and still have a little room for an extra bottle of oil and tow rope and straps. Going to store my other emergency kit stuff in the behind dash storage. Hopefully everything will fit okay.
Here is my tool kit.
knife, extendable magnet, basic pliers, 3/8" drive ratchet, 1/4" drive ratchet, 3/8" to 1/4" adapter, 1/4" to 3/8" adapter, 6 point sockets in 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm 17mm, torx sockets t25, t27, t30, t40, allen socket 1/8" and 3/16", metric allen sockets 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, and 6mm allen, combination wrenches in 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16" 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, and 15mm.
Still got to add a flat blade and phillips screwdriver. I may also add a 1/4" nut driver and possibly a couple short wrenches otherwise that is my complete tool kit.

 

Rotax has a nice little kit there. I looked and couldn't find anything like that from polaris

Only kit that came close to the current BRP kit was from Burandt and Skins. Skin's doesn't offer it anymore, for multiple reasons. They titanium wrench set is/was really trick. The newest Burandt bag is pretty cool. BRP kit is pretty fair deal for what you get in a nice case.

 

Polaris has a pretty decent kit available.

 

Not for that price. You can buy more tools than you can carry for a 1/4 of that and better quality.

 

One thing to have someone carry in the group is a normal sized, ball peen hammer. It will save your ass.

 

I’m surprised no one has mentioned a small rubber mallet. I keep one in my tool kit for tapping the running boards during the day and before loading up to get ice off.

 

That's what boots are for. Not going to carry that around.
I do have it near for when I park my sled back in the shed. So in your case, with loading I would have it in/near the trailer.
Just not on the sled while out riding.
