Been a few years since I've ridden in Maine (or to Maine).

Anyone know approx mileage from Island Pond VT to Jackman, ME?

How about Island Pond to West Forks, ME?

Thanks...

We tried to do that run one year but we ran out of snow.

At the time my husband said it would be at least a 6 hr ride.

As I am not the head navigator I will ask him what route he mapped out. I have it highlighted on two maps..when I dig my sled stuff out I'll take a photo and post it.

I'm not sure on the mileage from IP to Pittsburg and I'm sure the mileage has been rerouted over the last 20 years but I rode from Jtown to Pitts IIRC it was around 160 miles

I could punch the mileage in on GPS trailmasters when I get home this afternoon and get you the mileage from Rangeley to WF or Jackman

Looks like roughly 135 miles to the Trains from Jackman via Seboomook and Chesuncook lake.

From the Trains you're around 70-ish miles to Shin Pond Village via Libbys Camps.

IP to Jackman, then to Trains and SPV, Then head into County and stay in Ft Kent. Cross at Escourt Station? then head back towards Derby? That would be a great ride if you had 4-5 days to kill.

Back in the late 90s I went :

Day 1 Pittsburg to Greenville
Day 2 Greenville to Ashland
Day 3 Ashland, rode the north side of the County-stayed in Fort kent
Day 4 Ft. Kent thru Allagash - crossed at St Pamphile ( which you can no longer do) then continued on to Jackman via St Georges. Stayed at the Northland that night for $7 per person haha
Day 5 Jackman back to Pittsburg then drove home.

I believe that was around 1500 miles. Did it on my SRX700

Island Pond to Pittsburg is approximately 50 miles, Pittsburg to Rangeley is approximately 60-65 miles and Rangeley to Jackman is approximately 100 miles so in total you are looking at 215 miles let's call it 225 miles.

We ride from Derby and We always top off at youngs store in Pitsburg then fill up again in eustis. roughly 100 miles depending how you go from Pts to Eustis. From there its not a problem. We have done this trip many many times. You can also into rangley and then go the southern route thru kingsfield and up to the forks to get up there but much longer.

Probably about the same from IP to JTown vs IP to Forks. Bang a left at the 86/89 split or bang a right and shoot down to the Forks.

I would think if you had a GPS you could get from Bosebuck to Eustis and shave a ton of time off without dropping all the way down into Rangeley

Agree, coming from Bosebuck take connector trail 108 and that will drop you on 89 then head north towards Eustis this avoids going into Rangeley.
