heet or isoheet which is safe to run in 2 stroke sleds.

IsoHeet is isopropyl alcohol, aka isopropanol...the red bottle. IMO, additional alcohol isn't needed w/ today's fuel...most of it is 10% ethanol as it is, which will emulsify the water and allow it to be burned, and not freeze. Can't remember the last time I used any of that stuff...never had an issue.

look in side the fuel tank on a cold day (temps well below freezeing) if you see small ice droplets around the filler neck and cap you have a water problem . My advice it drain the tank dont chance a burn down , the water is heavy so it sits on the bottom the tank must be tipped over to drain it 100%.

get the red bottle no matter what your putting it in. its like 30 cents more. yellow should only be used in 4 stroke gas engines anyways, red is for deisels, 2 strokes, ect. and the red is better than the yellow in 4 strokes too, so i dont even mess with the yellow bottles....go red.

Correct on the Isoheet (being the correct one to use).

But as for not needing it...that all depends on where you live. Here in WI, there is a group of like 7 counties in SE WI that has reformulated gas (10% ethanol). But in the rest of our state (the majority of it), most of the gas does not contain ethanol (although some premium gas uses it to raise octane). So it is still needed for many of us.

gas containing 10% eth will hold the water in the fuel much better then just gas , for this reason your better off not adding HEET to your fuel unless you know you have a issue .[/b]

For this purpose, alcohol is alcohol, and adding isopropanol (IsoHeet) to 10% ethanol/gas is not going to hurt it's ability to absorb water. It's just redundant, and a waste of money. But if you are in an area where they don't have reformulated gas (like most of WI), it's not a good idea to wait until you have a problem. Ice can form in fuel lines (or float bowls on carbed sleds), starving fuel flow, and we all know what happens when two strokes run lean. For the price of Heet, it's not worth taking a chance. I always use it in extreme cold, but if it's a relatively warm day, I usually won't bother (especially if it's a day where I'm going through two or three tanks of gas).
