You might need to add one. I checked browns leisure world and they don't show a shut off on a 01 t-cat

He's right. They don't show one. The 2000 has one but the 2001 doesn't

the fuel shut off valve is check valve in the fuel pump body now, starting in 2001.
why would you drain your carbs? the brass parts will just oxidize and rot when exposed to the air. ie: clogged jets with green grodies, neddle seats rotted and plogged. better to add a fuel stablizer to the fuel and run it long enough to make shure it's through out the system.

Well, like 3holercat said you do not need a shut off valve because there is one inside the fuel pump. As far as draining the carbs goes you don't have to drain them because there is oil in the gas. Oil is injected into the fuel pump therefore there is oil and fuel in the float bowls. That green stuff you use to see clogging up the carbs is bacteria and it comes from the gas but it cannot live in oil. When the gas evaporates the oil is left and it will keep the bacteria from growing. I never have used fuel stablerizer because I only store my sled for (6) months and gas has a shelf life of (1) year. I drain the tank as low as I can and when winter comes of course you will have to fill the tank with fresh gas if you are to go anywhere. Oh, and don't forget to remove the driven clutch and lube the jackshaft. Reinstall the driven cl. but not the drive belt and loosen the track.

is the oil injected into the fuel pump on a 98 tcat? i thought i remembered oil lines going up to the reeds, but maybe i'm thinking of my old 95 zrt. i usually just start mine up once a month during the summer months and have never had a problem.before last season started i took all the carbs apart to clean them anyway and found they really didnt need to be cleaned. :smiley-faces7:

I think you are right. The oil is injected into the reeds so you don't have any oil in your carbs but as long as you run your sled you will have no problems. If you deside that you no longer want to run your sled all you would have to do is drain all the gas out of the tank and add a couple of gallons of 32 to 1 and run it for awaile and put it away.
