I have a 2015 sno pro 800. I ditched the front fox float 3's and replaced them with LXR shocks and springs. I love the smooth ride. Thought about getting LXR shocks for the rear susp also. Might be cheaper to just have the original fox shox rebuilt and re-valved to ride softer. Any suggestions? thanks. Probably a season ending project, so I have some time. Might get the fronts rebuilt at the same time

I was on their site and a rebuilt and revalve costs more than a new LXR shock. I hear ya.
Bruce at B-Line Control. Facebook him. He does snow cross, cross country, moto bikes, 4 wheelers etc etc. He does Jack Struthers personal shocks and did all his shocks when he won all his i-500 races. Been doing it a long time, and is very reasonable. It boggles my mind how he transforms those things. Not just make them softer, stiffer etc, makes them progressive. So they are soft and stiff all at the same time.

I have been doing quality rebuilds since 2002 for snowmobiles and other racing shocks for 30 + yrs.

$45/shock to rebuild and revalve for the cush ride and I will keep the 2 stage compression valving. I only use synthetic shock oil. 3 day turnaround plus ups.

PM me if you need additional info.

I had DLS Enterprises in Plymouth, MN rebuild my shocks in 2016. He revalved my rear track shock for $20 + $35 to check the shock and change oil. Great turn around time and with the revalve (soften the ride) the shock works great for my needs.

Talk to Dave and explain what you want and I'm sure he can help you.

We own a 2016 LXR and the ride quality is great, better than my '15 sno pro. The '16 rear suspension front shock is $89.06 at Country Cat. The '15 sno pro shock at the same place is $83.66. Now I'm not so sure the front skid shock is a Fox shock. The rear shock is about twice the diameter sno pro to LXR , so Im guessing it is a Fox shock. From what I've read, the LXR are ACT shocks from Cat. Whether they are made in china or not , I have no idea. Rear skid/rear shock is $101.96 ( sno pro) and $89.06 ( LXR) Probably go with a rebuild after the season is over. I'll call the people listed above and get some info. Thanks and keep the info coming in.

I called Fett Bros a couple of years ago when I had the Fox float 3's rebuilt and they said the ACT shocks are rebuildable. Online at a Cat dealer you can get all the internal parts/ ie-- pistons, valves, etc so I'd say they are rebuildable as well.

both fox and act shocks are rebuildable, but when brand new LXR shocks are like $99, it would make more sense to buy them and keep or sell your's

Carver is the best when it comes to fox we use them exclusively now. I've never had much luck dealing with hygear, which is too bad they are only an hour away instead of halfway across the country.

I'll get them done in April or May. They still ride good but kinda firm under the seat. Fronts are LXR and so far , so good. But if they can make them even better, I'll get them all done. Now a question. I know I can get the front shock/spring in the skid out -- I changed to the dual rate spring ( nice improvement BTW) w/o pulling the skid. Can the rear shock be removed just as easily? or does the skid have to be pulled? I was going to look last night but got busy as usual.
