on a 10-12 second pull on a 3$ Huff dyno.  Good luck to F1000 buyers if you buy into the claims we're starting to see

I thought DT had a Superflow. Maybe thats why D+D went to a independent dyno facility. :div20: Take a look at all the facts Mike800.

I beleive you are going to see larger gains than in the past due to the relatively mild state needed to get the emissions low. Things are fairly restricted, airbox for low noise, timing and fuel flow backed off for lean mixture and perhaps the y-pipe is restrictive to help with the emissions as well. I think that you will find that a boondocker will be needed for true safety on long runs and differing gas octane. I fully expect that you will see 175-180 on regular pump gas with relatively minor mods as this motor was tested well past the 200 hp mark and was stone reliable in the 180's in testing fromwhat I was told. All this is doing is solidifying the information that I received last march. Wait till we see a few on the grass and tar and see if I and others are dead wrong. If I am I will be the first to say it. HERE IS THE QUESTION!!! What if at 165 horse in mild state of tune, it still waxes the mach. OUCH!!!!Ditto for the F8 which may well be the sleeper of the year. I was told the F8 was a good match for the mach in testing as well to the very reaches of top end where the mach was faster. Remember that this is in prepro stock form. You will see many F8's at 160+ this year, bank on it as all the tech is there already to make it so. You take a well set up F8 at say 161-165 hp and even a stock F10 will be a target. The F8 will likely come in at 30-40 pounds under a mach so what do you think the outcome will be. All speculation at this point, but very reasonable to think it will happen. Beleive or don't, who cares, just don't blast off without checking your sources. d-tech is as good a place as there is for getting real numbers that are not massaged by the owners for selling purposes. I have been there and seen his work and his name is above reproach and well respected. If he says it is 180+ it is. It is just a number don't forget!!!! :frech32:

I love comments like this . D&D racing is family owned and operated business with a great group of honest hardworking people that take pride in their reputation as a credible snowmobile performance company .

I could see how it sounds too good to be true for such a minor mod to yield such great results but it was independently tested .

Dyno Jim has probably spent 100k in his facility over the past 15 20 yrs to ensure that his customers leave there with honest and accurate information .

Believe it or don't ...............I have no problem being the only guy with a 182 hp snowcone machine . :dance2:

Another informative post by Jester  :beer2: If all these guys had state troopers at their shops & posted a video of the dyno pull people would still call it BS, take it for what it is....

Good point!

The really funny thing is that if you were a member of d-tech you could have seen it live an I am sure a few did. I have been around sleds long enough to tell ya that 3-5 hp variance in dynos is acceptable as long as the peak and bandwidth are coming in similar, you should be good in the field when clutching. All a dyno is realy for is finding the maximum production a engine can produce given different input variables. Once you have found the maximim potential of the engine without taking away from the bandwith of the torque, the real fun starts as you have to clutch to the peak and bandwidth of the engine itself. Often you will find that peak is not quite the same in the field and you still need to tinker to get it right. I don't have the time to tinker like i used to with young kids so I like you and many others need good company's like D&D, BMP, BPC, Speedwerx and so on to take alot of the frigging around out of the process. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen someone buy a clutch kit to see it not work only to find out much later that the clutch kit was not the problem but there was a problem with the sled that a clutch kit would never fix and the company that the clutch kit was bought from got blamed initially. :banghead: Really is a great reason if you have the time and cash to get your sled onthe dyno to see if your sled is performing where it should. Have a good one.

What else was done other than the addition of the Y pipe and bullseyes to gain 17hp?

No timing advance or fuel adjustment? Sounds too good to be......
