Anyone running this modded pipe? How do you like? Did you have to make any fueling changes? Said to add 6 hp to the stock F7.

F7redcat, this is not the modded F8 pipe that Erich offers. I spoke with Erich this past Nov., when I purchased his "Super Tip" clutch kit, and we talked about a mod for the stock 700 guys. I recently spoke with Robb at Bikeman, and he said its available for $179 with a 1 week turnaround. Robb claimed 6 hp and additional torque with a peak rpm @ 7800-7900 rpm ( like stock ). I had a hard time believing him, and questioned this mod making more than a Speedworks single. I also questioned the fact that the peak hp rpm doesn't change. He said that it's true, and to send my pipe in for the mod. I'm still up in the air about this with out talking to Erich first hand. This is why I posted here.

So Cat spends boat loads of money to design there new laydown motors and leaves 6 hp on the table with their pipe ?

KEEP DREAMING !!!!!!!!!

This isnt 1986 when you could by a Phazer pipe for $179 and get 11 hp !!!. Its 2005 !!!!

The F8 we tested at Dynotech with my F8 kit and picked up serious gains with the pipe mod. We went from 155 up to 160 hp and it went from 104 for torque up to 110. You can view the results on Dynotechs website. They do work. If it didn't I wouldn't use it.

I do have a new pipe mod for the F7 and it does work. It's a nice gain and the heat shield covers up all the welding for a stock appearance. Like the F8 pipe mod the pipe gets cut in half and we adjust the volume of the pipe and the outlet.
It gives you more low end power and a broader powerband. It will allow you to rev it up higher to 7900-8100 rpm.

Cuz you can pass off a speedwerks pipe for "stock" :wanna_race:
Some people like to cheet and need a stock looking pipe.

Hey! That would be me----- I prefer to call it stealth. Back in 1997, when I got into this sled thing, I quickly learned that everyone's sled is stock. Just ask them and they'll tell you so!
