I've had this Polaris classic for 2 years and rode this sled maybe 5 times and just problem after problem. I'm ready for a change. Looking for a trai sled for one mostly but sometimes 2 people and mostly trail riding preferably a Ski Doo. Thanks for any input appreciated.

I’m riding a 2016 Renegade 1200. This is the XS chassis with the rMotion suspension. From what I’ve heard from many others, the XS chassis was the best so far. The newer G4 takes a lot of dialing in and some never get it there.
I came off a 2004 Rev, so it’s comparing apples to oranges. My buddy last year blew up his 2011 XP mid season last year and bought a 2019 Gen4 and sold it at the end of the season and fixed his 2011. He did not like it at all.

I also have a 1200 renegade, just a 2017. Same xs chassis and plan on keeping it a while. Very nice sled. If you get the quick adjusters for the suspension it’s very quick to change the setting for an additional rider. Some might find them a little low on power at 130 honest hp but it serves me (and my daughter) well. My only complaint is it pushes a little easier than a lighter 2 stroke sled but there are so many advantages to a 4 stroke that it’s easily worth it.

my personal opinion is I disagree with the "newer is better" statement. I have a 16 Renegade 600 adrenaline, I love everything about it. smoothest riding sled Ive ever owned and has 10,000 miles on it and has been bulletproof. I had a 20 and now a 21 Renegade X 600 and a 23 Renegade XRS 850 on the way. The 600R is definitely more powerful than the 600 But I find the chassis harder to dial in than the XS. maybe the XS just fits me better, but I dont love either of the G4's like it do the XS

I've mostly ridden Polaris all of my life and they are nice sleds. This past season I bought a used 2014 Ski-Doo Renegade X 800 ETEC (XS - rMotion) and I absolutely love it. It rides like a dream and corners really well. The ETEC motor is very powerful and sips gas and oil. If I was getting one for my wife and kids I would get the 600 ETEC. The 600 has been known to be more reliable and still provides plenty of power.
