Appreciate opinions on best Cat dealerships for good/fastest turn-around service in Twin Cities (MN) area? And for warranty work, does it matter if you didn't buy sled from that dealer?

I honestly don't believe there is a good cat dealer in the metro. If your willing we have two great ones outside though. Country Cat in Sauk Center and Thomas Snow Sports in Ogilvie. I only deal with them after many years of frustration with anything local.

I agree with this post both Thomas and Country Cat are great dealers. Country Cat used to be small like Thomas but they have grown and grown over the years. One cat dealer that I will never walk back into is Heinens in Osseo MN I had a very very bad run in with them and I will personally never say a good thing about them (but others must like them as they are still in business).

It's not going to help you with warranty work but a great shop in Osseo is Osseo power sports.....great smaller shop that still goes out of their way to help the customer.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I bought mine at Cities Edge, just brought it in yesterday after both electric start doesn't work on cold days (unless engine warm) and reverse stopped working. Also having them flush/fill DD. Sled only has 52 miles on it now, bought new as carryover last February. Was told they should get to work on it next week, which seems reasonable, but service rep was unsure if it would be done by next weekend if parts were needed they don't stock….so just crossing my fingers it gets done sooner rather than later. Just wanted to know for future reference, as it would be nice to go to a dealer that always stocks all needed parts for quicker turn-around.

Heinens is in business because they are a volume dealer and are usually cheap on new prices. They suck. Incompetence doesn't begin to describe the place.

I remember vividly the ridiculous polaris bashing they did back in the late 90's. Almost comical the garbage that came out of their mouths. Funny it was right around the time Northway Sports went out of business and there was a Cat franchise available????

I can't say for fact, but the bashing got progressively worse until cat was on the show floor then it went over the top. I'm guessing it was a long divorce with hard feelings.

Hienen's is a joke. Every time I've been in there (not very often) they act annoyed to have to deal with anyone. I will never go there no matter how cheap their prices are, I'd rather pay more for good customer service and have the comfort of knowing the door isn't hitting me in the ass as I walk out. Country Cat gets my vote. Been going to those guys since they were working out of the barn on their farm. I don't think you'll find better prices or better customer service, they are the worlds largest for a reason. I've been to Cities Edge before too but just to look around they seem like they would be a good dealer to work with. Glad it worked out for you.

Thanks, fortunately it was an easy fix for my sled, just needed a new battery, had them put on a quick connect too. If it had been major, who knows? From here on out, I will probably go to Country Cat for anything major, just from what I've heard, they have the best mechanic staff around by far. Bought some clothes up there on Black Friday (and several things from them off ebay over last few months) Awesome Place, for sure!

I've been into all these metro dealers in the last few months (out of boredom mostly), including a road trip to Country Cat. Heinen's is the closest AC dealer, but aside from an immediate need part or something cheap on ebay I will go elsewhere based on others' feedback on service after the sale. They do seem more interested in keeping to themselves behind the parts counter, than going onto the floor and helping customers.

CC and Thomas Sno Sports are the only two close to where I live I will let turn a wrench on my sled. In fact, I'm taking mine to CC next week to have them put on some extras. Super nice staff, told me 1.5 week turnaround. No complaints here. Just in time for when the season truly begins!

Northway is a great place to go to for gear, but they aren't a Cat dealer. Friendly and helpful staff. Tousley were nice also. Pro Sports in Ramsey has tons of Doo gear.

I have learned a ton of info from this website, and running a search you can answer damn near any question on any given make or model.

In addition to all the performance parts we make and sell, we can do any kind of general service work on your Arctic Cat Snowmobile, ATV, or UTV as well. We're easy to get to, just a couple miles off 61 on the south side of Forest Lake, and we've got a decent stock of OEM repair parts on hand and get anything we don't stock in a matter of days. Give us a call at 651-982-6020 if you'd like to get your machine in for service or repair.
