Looks like they're aimed directly at the 850 XCR and MXZ. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the MY25 lineup.

Just trying to soak in as much as possible in that one screen grab, they're saying "next generation C-Tech2". They almost certainly have plans for the "125-class" engine, don't they?
I hope so, but look at Ski-Doo doing a complete overhaul of the 600R, Polaris' 650 Patriot, both stellar engines, and not selling worth a damn as everyone wants big bores. Ask yourself: if you were Cat, knowing the development costs linked to developing a new engine, would you wager it? Of course, a sleeved-down 858 (similar to what Polaris did with the 650) would reduce the costs, but it wouldn't do much for the revenue side when folks are buying). Last time I heard, Doo was selling 4-5 850s to every 600R...

Being the actual race sled, they really can’t. With what seems to be 3 ZR models to choose from besides the rxc, I think they have it covered. I’d assume anyway.
it's the "actual" race sled FOR NOW. Let's see if it remains or gets usurped by a new XC-RR or something similar for racing duty. Remember how everyone cursed the first Doo Xs (2001) and Cat RRs (2013) for being soooo stiff and now they are just normal trail sleds. All about marketing... Best example that comes to mind: Doo made purple Formula Zs in 2000. Low and behold, same sleds became yellow MXZ Sports in 2001, so the guy buying it could tell his buddies he owned an MXZ instead of a lowly Formula Z.... SAME SLED!!!! Image sells...

According to snowgoer it looks like you will be able to pick shocks separate from color which is great. I want the black one with Atac and the G8.

I’m not worried about it. Nothing I can do about either 🤣. End of the day my ZR with atac on stiff, is as stiff as any of my rxc sleds have been. All my Polaris Vr1s and xcrs have been mashed potatoes. Keep the faith!

Make there small bore a 700 and folks might be surprised how many they sell and not just to cat brand buyers

You are misinterpreting their statement. They are simply listing the three types of shocks that will be offered on the Riot, not saying they will be available with each color. See product information page below. The base model Riot (all black) will come with the ifp shocks. The Riot Sno Pro (green) will come with the new AC5S shocks. The Riot with ATAC (orange) will come with the Fox iQS.

I hope that’s the case!
it's not the case

If they don’t dumb down the rxc858 that will be a serious draw for the big bump big bore riders and THAT imo could pull poo and doo riders that are growing tired of revalving and springing Xcr. And xrs. Sleds to perform in that terrain condition or even heavy riders in general. As somebody who has good money in recalibrating dumbed down Xcr sleds this would be a great thing if somebody could just buy one and ride the damn thing off the showroom floor without fiddle fucxing around

I would welcome a 700 with open arms; I have long been clamoring for one, it would be perfect for me anyhow. Whether the market would be interested is another matter - one need only read posts on any forum to see how everyone is obsessed with getting 2 hp over the neighbour (850s are no longer enough, everyone wants a 900...), lol Anyhow, guess we'll see how Cat sees the matter eventually
