Check the chain and sprockets. If the brake is tight and origional there is probably nothing to worry about.
We have had 5 or so 120s. I have never checked compression and have never had Engine trouble. We would wire the governors and hold it all the time no trouble. They are pretty tough except the chain and sprockets and the stock front Shocks are weak.

 

What am I checking the chain and sprockets for? Just wear and tear?


Has anyone checked the compression on these? I guess I'm just anal and want to make sure I'm not buying a pile of crap. I'm sure those little lawn mower engines run for a very long time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

 

Most don't oil them and they wear. Then the stock chain tensioner wears out. Most switch gears anyway but it is a good indication of its use. Also you can look at the track drivers.....
You know what to say if you can't tell what your looking at look at a few and you will soon pick up what wear looks like.

 

They know when they flip it. We used some Arctic Cat ATV Shocks that were much stiffer and it would not push and collapse leading to a flip. Stiffer Shocks are a great first or second upgrade. They don't bounce as high as they jump either with good Shocks. We had Two very similar machines but one with stock Shocks and springs and another with the ATV Shocks and Springs.....no one ever wanted to ride the stock sprung one.
