Depends on the year. A 1998 ZRT 800 will hold it's own against anything. But a 1999-2001 will need some help. My 2000 was a dog stock. I added clutching mods, gear change, and powerbreather. Now it's fast as hell. I raced an RX-1 a few weekends ago, and on the ice with ~1,000' track, I took him by about 2 sled lenghts.

Don't know about a ZR900, but I beat an F7 consistantly in ~1,000 ft race a few weekends ago. I will admit that in 600 feet he would have won, but by the end of the 1000 I was ahead by 2-3 sled lengths. 2000 ZRT 800.

The f7 will smoke a stock zr900 and ZRT800 in the 660'.

My dad has a 03 900 w/ speedwerx TI clutch kit, air box mods, gearing, vforce, and my sled will pull it about 2 sled lengths.

My f7 is STOCK w/ an MBRP can

Sorry guys I have seen XCR 800 on a mile run with a slight tail wind run 128.6mph

A 440 Sno-Pro ran 109mph that day. ZRT 600 running 117.5mph

And yes our radar guns are accurate with a GPS.

All sleds were stock with only clutch work done. And iiam a Cat guy guys, so yes it is very possible.

Our 2003 Sno-Pro ran 107.3 on a 44 degree day. Big numbers are possible if you know your stuff.

My 93 XLT ran 107.9 in a half mile. All sleds stock except clutching.

I am on the ice almost every weekend. F 7's deffently hold their own, but ZR 900's almost always come out on top. Find it hard to believe you can beat a stock ZR 900 let alone a modded one. Must have one of those special sleds.
Im not trying to talk smack just sharing what I see. As far as a 660' race the guy who hooks up out of the gate wins.

yeah thats because the guys who are beating must be morons,my wifes 600efi beats 800's too, when they are set up in left field.me and partner set up his 2000 zrt800,and i'll tell you what you'd better have a REAL,REAL strong f7 if your going to get by this.take a look at the amsnow shootout,f7 did'nt even come close to zr900 or t-cat et's.so quit exagerating, you guys on these f7's are leaving on 1 not 3.

Ok..You obviously are sceptical so I'll prove it to you.

My brother--aka FIRECATSPANKER has a zr900 w/ v force gearing speedwerx clutch and single pipe and 240 studs

My dad has the same setup w/o the single pipe

My friend TeamGreenf7 has an f7 w/ 180 studs an mbrp can and a dakota performance clutch kit.

I have a STOCK f7 w/ 180 studs and a mbrp can.

In a 660 foot hardpack drag strip..Teamgreenf7's f7 beat my brothers 900 by a SMALL margin 8 times in a row

Later on they raced and the 900 beat the f7 by SMALL margin..

I'm telling you what I saw..STOCK for STOCk it depends on traction ..

And you say the f7 hasn't came close to a zr900 or Tcat times? What's w/ the pavement and grass runs that everyone was raving about a few months ago..those times were better eh? :p

In a recent radar run I ran my 2000 T-cat, (vforce3, BM Clutch Kit, no picks) 148 kph in 600'. It was -21C out. The F7's were running 133 & the RX-1's were 133.

I had a friendly race with some F7's after that on the 7 mile lake strip, groomed. Even when I was slow on the holeshot I quickly passed them, there is no comparing the acceleration between the two. My BM clutch Kit really shifts hard though. Everybody told me to worry about these f7's out of the hole and how they were going to beat my near stock T-cat. I think I could hold an F7 off at 3/4 throttle never mind full. B) B)

I have had some RX-1's beat me on top though, my T-Cat goes 192 kph (118 mph) on radar.

Nothing can touch the 800tripples consitantly around here.

Ive only seen a tripple loose to any twin (even the zr900) once but then the next race he beat him back.

Its simple around here on the lake:

1. T-Cat 1000 - the ride to have
2. Xcr or Mach - Both fast on top end
3. ZR900 - Can compeat but not consistantly
4. SRX - Atleast ties the 800twins
5. 800Twins(any of them except MXZ's) - Polaris, and ZR's Haul
6. F-7's - Good for a twin

Bottom line: If you have a tripple and your on a lake, your going to be able to beat 90% of whats out there. And chances are that what beats you is just a higher cc tripple.

3sparkplugs + 2stroke = More power
ITS JUST THAT SIMPLE
