I've been looking at a rear bracket to lower the back attachment point on the rear suspension, gets the track out of the tunnel more,. anybody done this ? I'm sure It will not be as good on the trail but I'm looking more for boondocking, I have a 136" track....

I did a 00 700 xc sp stretched to a 136 w/ the slp brackets. It was easy to do but hard to get the suspension set-up correctly since the geometry different.

Do you have to tighten the limiter strap more to get it to hand right?

SLP and Polaris make drop kit brackets that work well. you will need to lower the front mounting position one hole to compensate for the rear adjustment or you'll have way to much ski pressure. you may need to drill the hole out in the front bracket, the factory only drilled one out of the tunnel. the drop works well for deep snow, but makes the sled a little top heavy on tight trails. i have it done to two of my sleds for backwoods riding, it works well.
