Hey XC syclone, how did your 660 do against your 800 prox? I have both an 800 and 600 and I was thinking about making my 600 into a 660 and I was wondering if I would see a difference between a 660 and the 800? What are your thoughts.
Thanks

My 660 vs a good friend's '04 ProX800 that was clutched, SLP single, VF's, and jetted - even side-by-side up to about 80mph, then my 660 would pull away from him until we shut it down. Didn't matter what temperature or snow conditions. EASILY, the 660 had longer legs than the 800. Same results with his '02 XC800 (stock).

Have not run it against my 800 - just bought my 800 this spring after the snow melted.

Mine's an Indyhead 660 top-end, with some other special "tricks" I've done to other portions of the intake / carbs / whatnot. Using LRM Twins for my pipes.

As far as HP goes, I'm probably around 145 honest HP. And I have it clutched very, very well. (150+ pulls on track dyno amongst lots of time in the field.)

My 660 easily took out a clutched/jetted/gutted box ProX8. It was a buddy of mine. I was pulling on him as soon as we were out of the gate, all the way till the 1/2 mile finish line. The 660 also has much better throttle response.

That's a race motor with race pipes on 110. BIG difference between a pump-gas trail motor and a mod motor. Still, LRM makes the best race-motors available, IMHO.

Carls 660 pipe IS an LRM pipe. Carls purchased the LRM tooling.

Still, I wouldn't do anything but twins on a 600 / 660. Not much (if anything) is gained with a single on the 600 / 660. Twins help about 7-9 actual HP.

I would love twins but I hear they are a hassle to tune.

Not the LRMs. Quite literally they have been the most hassle-free set of pipes (or pipe) I've ever dealt with.

My SLP twins havent been too finicky. Low atm. pressure seems to make the sled a bit lazy, but its not bad. My buddys stock 600 with SLPs seems to be a bit worse. Ran out of time to finish testing, so hopefully this year we'll get it spot on. Part of it may be that he's too scared to run it lean and its just drowning in fuel.

BTW, the carls single wont fit a ProX chassis, edge only...and there is no SLP single for a small block 600.

I could have sworn there was a single pipe for the 600 pro x but I just checked and I can't find it.
Where can I get a set of LRM twin pipes? How much horsepower do they improve? Would they work good for boondocking and trail riding?
