Ck out Mlive today !!! Lists all the businesses that got PPL loans for each city in Michigan due to Coronavirus. You should look up your area and decide for yourself. Shows what they got too. Some might be Legit but In my area A Drug Store got $ A Grocery Store got $ , A Butcher shop/store got money-----( I know they have been slammed with work all during the shutdown yet they got 2-5 Million.) Then look up the rules for a PPL Loan. ------- you don't have to keep them hired, they can instead draw unemployment during this time , you spend the $ at M/L your discretion. Program ends Dec 31. As Long as you have the same # of employees you started with by Dec 31, It turns into a grant = FREE Money. What a Tax Payer Money making Scam for many that got this $.. & THE RICH GET RICHER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

,,, yeah, the rich get richer,,,,,, as the business you started on a shoestring budget by taking a 2nd mortagage on the house and emptying all your bank accounts is now about to sink as the Gov orders another 4 wks of shutdown. Yep, its good to be "rich' with that kind of stress hangin around your neck,,,
btw, I think there are alot more stipulations to the PPP loan that need to be met before it becomes "free" money.

You don't have to tell me about starting your own business. I've been a self employed independent small business owner/operator my whole life. Of course there is more to a PPP, but I wasn't gonna write the book on it here. . It just shocked me about a couple of the names in my area that got it. A grocery store ? common if anybody was spending money it was on groceries. A Butcher operation, My buddy told me a month and a half ago when trying to process a cow that that place was already fully booked through November. So, I and most of the American public thought this Tax payer $ was a rescue package for businesses. These two owners are no BS wealthy & everybody in the area knows it.. I can't fathom either of these actually needing a rescue when their type of operations thrived in this virus world of the last 6 months or so.
PS. Neither of these businesses were required or did shut down during the shut down. So ignore my alert or ck into it . Just don't bash the messenger for giving a heads up.

MidMod is really just pissed that he didn't get his fair share. This money was intended to put cash back into the economy. And, it was sometimes abused by clever Capitalists. That's one of the negatives of Capitalism. But, it sure beats Communism which is what today's Democratic Party is now embracing. Nobody's sneaking into Russia or China, or Cuba, or N. Korea because of their great lifestyle now are they?

Ha, Ok Jackass here you go again. I don't need a loan for your information , and I'm past operating on Credit.period. The money was intended to help businesses survive that were affected by coved 19. Not as forgivable loans to those not seriously affected. Yes its abuse,/corruption, at least you got that right. This string was intended to be a heads up info source for your area so you could ck & see what happened in your area with the Taxpayer funded PPL money. Your always harping Socialism, I thought for once you might wanna get a glimpse of what/where the Rich play the Socialism card .

Again, the money was intended to mainly put cash back into the economy. You seem to be obsessed with some undeserving businesses getting a payment they shouldn't have. If some of this money was wasted, it can still help stimulate the economy in many ways. Stop making mountains out of molehills to cast shame on the POTUS as we both know your motive. Trump is still going to get elected in a LANDSLIDE despite your BS. Actually, it will be because of your misplaced criticism. People aren't that stupid. Get it yet? o_O

If anyone thought the government could swiftly dole out 3 Trillion dollars efficiently and fairly they're either not very bright or blind.

"We're from the Government and we're here to help you"
Of course the MSM will say Trump personally handles EVERY loan transaction....his fault, like everything else...in their minds.

States, banks, and red tape from government agencies/financial institutions are to blame for any corruption that occurred...IE: anyone that received funds that shouldn’t have....hopefully any of these companies that did, will be caught in the end.

And like PI said, the money should get back into the economy.....just like the extra $600, ON TOP of regular state unemployment benefits people are enjoying, making MORE than when they were working !

Politicians knew this was the case, and let it go.....

BTW....in Democratic states, they can STAY on unemployment, with the extra cash...EVEN IF THEY GET CALLED BACK TO WORK !

In Republican states, if they refuse to go back to work....guess what...they lose their unemployment benefits.

Funny how indignant the very supporters of the welfare state become when their payouts go to the  enemy.

The PPP program was intended to help struggling businesses but it's primary intent was to keep people employed while millions were being laid off. The only way the money becomes a "grant" is if you keep everyone on the payroll or if someone is fired, let go, quits you hire someone else to fill the position and do not pare back. Also, you cannot cut your payroll and any amount that it is cut that you receive funds for through the program becomes a loan and must be paid back.

Yes, many businesses have received funds that did not need to lay anyone off but the SBA also stated that this money can be set aside because nobody knows the future or just how long and how wide the impact is going to be. If you are a small business owner and did not apply for the loan you are an idiot because nobody can predict what will happen in 6, 12 or even 24 months. It's called protecting your business and it's employees.

So you can bitch about the program not being perfect, or that greedy business owners completely took advantage of the situation or you could be happy that these same businesses remain in business, continue their payrolls and keep your community going strong. Laid off employees head straight to the unemployment office where taxpayers get the tab for those benefits as well. As a taxpayer I am paying EITHER way. I would much prefer this money (in the form of grants) keep people in their jobs.

Should churches be able to receive this funding? One would think no as they are tax exempt and totally funded by the people within the church. Dont get me wrong I feel its great we{taxpayer} can help the cause but just so much bad about the whole issue. We will pay, our kids will have taxes that will make ours look like no big deal.

It has alot to do with how fast they could apply. The big guys got the man power and means to get it applied almost immediately. A small business cant get to it asap and may take a while to get a grasp on what the application needs. Its pure greed. My old place of employment the owner jumped on that application immediately. Knowing people who need it might not get it. While our buisness went up. Somewone who no longer works where let him know other people need this more than we do. His response? Well that's just buisness.... Disgusting. This was supposed to be for small businesses who are going to struggle. Not for big guys to snag while their buisness is doing great. That owner owns a snowmobile mod shop too. Among other businesses. Part of the reason I got out of the industry.

Such a money grab and sad to see people/businesses taking advantage of this when their business really wasnt effected. The business that actually had to shut their doors didnt get a chance to get money. Shame for sure.

One of the problems this program created was some small businesses were afraid to use it because they weren't sure that they could afford to keep employees on payroll when there was no business to support them. Then, they would lose money themselves while their employees didn't. This situation would then cause them to lay these employees off anyway and they would have to pay the loan back. I have a friend who owns a body shop and he's in this predicament.

Here's some info that explains the issue of non-profits taking these loans.
