Trail Report 1st 20/21 Season.

Well it could be possible if the upcoming storm would shift this way it could be an epic opening day / week, and that my fellow HCS Members is possible, been there done that years past. BUT old Mother Nature needs to be giving... VERY GIVING. With 2 days to go we have no base heading into the woods, road south toward Stamford was our backdrop for the Bye COVID pic below. Little to no snow but a thin base is starting to set. Just hoping that coming storm could be an 8"+ dump with that things could be rocking and rolling sooner then later with the upcoming temps . Picture below are real time as of today. THINK & WISH SNOW !! ⛄ Make sure you check with the clubs trails your riding that those trails are OPEN !! Respect The Landowner....ALWAYS !!

Well it HAPPEN !!! 🎅 🎄 ⛄

Woodford SnoBusters of Vermont
Woodford SnoBuster Trail Report, December 17, 2020: The Woodford Trails are open for riding! Our sno-cam shows 12" of snow at this time and still falling, while residents on the mountain have reported from 12-18" depending on location. All gates and stiles are open, trails were cleared of blow-downs this week except for corridor 100 from Airport Rd to Somerset Dam. The parking lots should be plowed out by tonight. Groomers will be out Friday panning the snow and filling water bars. We started with bare ground before this snow, so the wooded trails will not be great, but rideable with caution. Be aware of any blow-downs this storm may have caused. If possible, move what you can before the groomers can arrive to clear it. As with any year, Forest Roads will be your best bet for early season riding. It is a cold, fluffy snow, therefore it will not pack well; it is helpful if riders try to pack the whole width of trail.

As you know, all our groomer operators are volunteers, who will need to dig themselves out at their homes before they can climb into the groomers, so be patient as they are getting our trails in the best possible condition. Please be sure to follow Covid distancing protocols while riding....Stay safe and Think Snow!

Woodford SnoBuster Trail Report, December 17, 2020, Part 2: Update, we have one groomer track packing south to Harriman tonight and one heading to Jenks tonight. The parking lots are being plowed right now. Again, keep in mind, early season conditions. Ride safe. Think Snow!

Sounding Clubs

DSVJ:
Reporting groomer is out and trails will open Saturday 12/19 @ 7 AM. The Hogback Trail will Remain CLOSED this Season. After much discussion with the Town of Wilmington and homeowners adjacent to a necessary roadway it was decided that our new trail could NOT be used

EZ RIDERS: We will OPEN the trails once we have them groomed. The Season Has Begun, BUT That Does Not Mean Trails Are Open JUST YET !!!! With this information in mind, we do not expect trails to be open for riding until Saturday at the earliest.

Wardsboro: 710 TRAIL IS CLOSED FOR AN ACTIVE LOGGING OPERATION. As for the rest of the trail, please watch for updates. We will post a status update once groomers report back the status and conditions.

Shaftsbury: No report, I am sure the tower trail is packed with snow. Better pack a lunch if your the first one up before the groomer !!

Woodford: Please be advised, there are two gates on the Glatenbury Loop that are not open. Ride with caution. We anticipate they will be opened tomorrow. Think Snow!

FYI.... ⛄ Don't Forget You Need A TMA !!

Ladies & Gentleman, Boys & Girls, if you did not get any of the White Gold, over the last week, it might be a minute before we get back on track. Not the Christmas Present we were looking for, BUT 🎅 Santa came early and we welcome him back ASAP. That F-ing GRINCH ❄ :alien:

Woodford Trail Report December 25, 2020: Hate to be the Grinch on Christmas Day, yet this is Corridor 7A Redmill Road this morning. The trails are closed until further notice. Be well and Think snow!!!

In the last 48 hours we went from still showing over a foot in the fields to brown & nothing back to 3 inches of White !! The 10 day outlook shows the needed temps but next Friday we show rain and 49...WTF !!!

Weather Update: Snowing nicely this morning as we speak and looks like the 10 day outlook once again changed and looking more favorable then a few days ago. Little by little each smaller storm helps, we might be back in business by the end of the week if we can keep the rain out of the mix !!!
