Only 1 I can think of is Beaver Creek in Gaylord that has year round camping.

Know some who stayed at a place in the UP for one year with his camper but had lots of problems with the camper freezing up, not many places in the UP offer winter camping.
Eastern UP:

Norther lower:
http://www.beavercreekresort.org - fills up fast, near Gaylord, everyone enjoys this place very family oriented.

Couple of others, do not know anyone who stays in other places other than beaver creek and higgins hills.

Link below will take most of the campgrounds that are open year round

The amount of time you will spend each trip digging out, winterizing etc I would think just find a motel, in the EUP a motel can be found for $30 a night two people or less if you share it with three or more. The last place we stayed at was $54 a night with tax. A hot shower and warm room is nice to walk into after 12+ hours on the trail.

We also stayed at a two bedroom cabin on the Lake at $85 a night a little more cost but you can cook there and save on meals. A couple air mattress and split the cost 4 ways it a good deal.
