My wife wants the tall windshield on her ZR-6000. We don't like the look of the windshield as it's see through in the area of the gauge and below. It's ugly. I wish the windshield was all blacked out in that area. Thought about painting it down in that area.

The other option, was adding a windshield bag to cover that area up. I saw this one on country cat:

On a review I saw on eBay, it said it didn't fit well with the medium and tall windshield. Not sure why it would matter. Anyone have one on a medium or tall windshield that could comment? Is see there is a large windshield bag as well, but that one looks ugly.

Looks like the medium lxr windshield has a bit of a blacked out area, but 4" shorter than the high....

My wife has the tall windshield on her 2015 ZR 6000. She has the windshield bag you are contemplating. They're correct- it does not fit well so I made a modification. It does not fit well because there are NOT enough mounting points. I drilled a hole in each side of the windshield and used a black plastic bolt and nut (from the hardware store) and literally bolted the bag to the windshield. You can't see the bolt because it's a slotted button head and it's black. It works awesome and also serves to stabilize that big windshield. You're dealing with poorly designed items all made in Chickedy-China. My wife also wanted mirrors but we found out they do NOT work with the Cat handle bar muffs she wanted. So the mirrors got returned. When I explained to the dealer that these accessories are not compatible with each other he laughed and gave me my money back.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. She ended up buying the Mid-Performance orange windshield. I think she will be cold, but we'll see. I think the LXR mid would be the right fit. Time will tell. Otherwise, I'm going to paint the lower inside of the tall windshield we have so it looks better.

I put the smaller bag on my 18 ZR last week. I'd prefer this bigger bag but thought it wouldn't fit on the new plastics? Anyway, I'm not a big fan of how it connects. It has two tie downs that use the windshield screws, but it pushes the windshield out at that point so it doesn't sit correctly. I was thinking about trying to mount it with velcro instead. Seems like a poorly thought out mount on their part.

I have that bag (the one posted by HoosierFusion above) on my 2019 ZR 8000 (which also has the high windshield) and it has that same crappy mounting system where you slip it under the windshield screws. It is pretty small and almost useless. You can fit a knit beanie hat and a small flash light in there. Not much else. I wanted the same one that my wife has on her 2015 ZR 6000 (pic I posted above) but Cat doesn't list that one anymore. There should really be lots more options for these types of bags but Cat really missed the opportunity. Lots of riders would buy them.

I've seen that other bag still on ebay but don't think it fits the 18 and up plastics. I guess I'll have to find a better way to mount the one I got. It's definitely a crappy design. It could easily be bigger and not push the windshield out of the slot it is supposed to sit in.
