Bought a 04 snopro 440 with a f7 bottom end/f6 top end and high comprssion heads(114 octane), now they have about 180 lbs compression, and i do plan on puttin a stock head back on not sure exactly where that will put the compression but does anyone have any tips for what octane to run as compared to how many lbs of compression, maybe theres more factors but i figured this was the majority or a good place to start, and it did come with a 110 octane head to not sure how much thatll drop the compression but maybe enough to do a 110/ premium mix? any tips would be great, thanx!

compression, timing, elevation, and barametric pressure all affect octane requirments. If you get that motor under 170lbs, closer to 160, you should be fine with running straight pump gas unless the timing is way advanced.

If i remember right my old 04 440 tech manual had alot of info about figuring out requirements for motor octane, might be able to find some info in one of those or maybe a formula on google.
