if it is a true mod it won't run on the trails. I have had the trail version of the 720's for 3 years and they are great. If you like to be able to make adjustments get the bigbore. I will have a 720 in a f5 chassis this year and will be able to tell you results against f7's later in the year.

i was going to probably get a race version 720, since there are some pretty cheap ones. but if they don`t go good on the trails, where do i look for a trail version? also d&d, speedwerx, black magic claim 160 hp on their race engines, is that pretty much the same as the trail one?

realistic #'s for the above mod motors are low 150's in hp. The trail versions low 140's. You will need different heads so you don't have to run race gas, different timing and possibly different jugs. It's not worth it to try and convert a full snox mod sled to trail use. Find a good 2002 sno pro and a used 720 trail kit and build a trail one. The new ac 800 mod motor is making in the low 160's with a much larger case than these 440 based mod motors. 160 is really a reach based off the 440 case.
