What tune?

Going to try and keep this as simple and straightforward as possible. My boost is off warranty this season and I'm looking to do a tune. Here is my current setup, things I'm looking for, and riding info :
-Almost completely stock VR1 Boost, but I do have a studded cobra track and had the Indy Specialties P22 clutch cover and balance done. Clutch alignment is as good as I can get it without the TRS mounts. About 0.040" gap at the back of the secondary.
-Want to run 91 non oxygenated pump gas with no fuel additives (best we can get in MN there isn't 93 non ethanol widely available)
-I don't want to adjust the tunes through the 7S necessarily. I plan to run one tune and no be changing back and forth. I don't drag race.
-I rode my last boost about 1,000 miles last season and didn't have any issues. I always felt the boost was lacking down low and low speed throttle response wasn't that great. I would like to see this get better (maybe that isn't realistic?)

At the end of they day I would rather leave some HP on the table for reliability. I don't have anything to prove to anyone just looking to get the full potential out of this machine. The seasons are short and I don't want issues or a trip cut short or damaged because I didn't leave the tune stock.

I’d start with the 25 update flash and clutching first. The 25 flash supposedly helps a bunch with low and mid throttle hp but nothing more at wot.
Thats my biggest gripe with the Boost is the lack of low end throttle response. Below half throttle is a joke with these. I drove a sled with a 91 tune and it didn’t seem any better at low throttle vs stock. Is that typical or do the tunes usually pick up a lot of lower throttle response?

Mine has gobs of low-end tug.

Speedwerx 2.5 seems to work well for a lot of folks on here. I run BCM tunes and like them also.
You are going to get a lot of clutching opinions on here but if you go speedwerx you can get their whole package which works.
If you want BCM setup just pm me and there are a few others on here to help you with that also.
Rick also has a kit they like.
On a side note
I think the stock exhaust is good to 7 psi and I’d run that for what you’re looking for as stated above.

Your MY19 Axys has a different VES system than the MY22up Matryx Boost engine. The tunes are NOT compatible.

On my 23 vr1 boost I ran a Speedwerx stage 2 tune with clutching and exhaust. Sled ran great compared to stock, more power everywhere and ran perfect on pump gas.

On my 24 vr1 boost I’m currently running a Bikeman 20 horse quick spool tune in combination with exhaust and clutching. It’s much snappier and exciting to ride. The bottom end power is greatly improved and feels like there’s no lag. The exhaust is louder than the speedwerx but still tolerable.

I’d suggest either one, they both make the sled way more enjoyable to ride compared to stock.

I’ll vote for bcm. HRSS tune was also good. But I wouldn’t even run a stock boost without some boostane . Let alone tuned. Many of the tuners are starting to recommend this now as well. They like to detonate and or de rate. Even without a light or code. Fuel quality is hit or miss at any pump .

you can carry two 32 oz bottles behind the 7s. More than enough for any amount of miles you could put on in a day

So i'm going to flash it back to oem and see if i still have any of the same issues. only thing different this year from last year is the trs valve, speedwerx modded muffler and the speedwerx tunes. checked all my tubing, and the waste gate. things are as they should be.

I didn’t change it from last year.. I was running the bmp tunes with the speedwerx ck with zero issues other then over rev. Talking with speedwerx today, we both agreed that going back to oem to make sure it’s not the tune was a good starting point. They are actually wondering if the valve is working so good its building too much boost too fast creating a lean bog.
