lastly, most folks that ride ATV's should really spend some time on a bicycle, not for the silence, but for the exercise. too fat to walk to the mailbox? get an ATV. too lazy to walk your 40 acres? get an ATV.

A bicycle?

That's cute!

You got a Subaru too?

It would a great thing for them to work together to establish more permanent trails. Hopefully they can come to an agreement on when those trails would be closed to ORV's. The water is too muddy right now. I don't have a problem allowing tracked ORV's in the winter, but the trails would need to be wider.

I was riding in Allegan Forrest one time at 2:00 AM Trail sings that said no wheeled vehicles allowed..
We came upon a Jeep that was stuck in the Middle of the Trail and two guys were really drunk .. We just laughed and went around them.. They had miles to walk to a County road.
jeeps and w wheeler leave terrible ruts for Motorcycles is my only complaint.

State Land and Federal Land

That is how I remember, from Club 37 staging area East of M37 is mixed and posted as mixed open year round even though it's groomed in the winter for sleds. A large percentage of snowmobile trails are open year round UP and LP to ORVs because they are part of county and state roads, you just can't pass through the small patches of private land.

East of M-37 is State Land .. West may be some Federal Land.. In the Winter they open the gates and allow Snowmobiles on Federal Land .. In the Summer they close the gates.

Back in the Late '70's early 80's the Federal land was a great place to ride Motorcycles in the Summer.. Now the marked trails have shifted to the State Land.. I never had a snowmobile back in those days just dirt bikes..
Heck I never even had an ORV sticker back then.. I don't recall being aware of such a thing..
