I am trying to find out what the white numbers/letters are on the face of the updated CDI box. The 1998 and 1999 CDI box has CU2845 on the face. Does anyone know?

Don't know if you made a typo. The un-updated box was CU-2545. Just making sure you get the right info!

I finally found out what the original and updated CDI box numbers are for anyone else who would like to know....

1999 Original - CU2545

Updated CDI - CU2542

This is information from a dealer who has the update kit in stock.

The kit is Arctic Cat Update #637-193.

Apparently Cat had a number of warrantees created from a lean midrange issue that caused severe engine seizures.

Also that same year they had a recall on the primary clutch due to a manufacturing flaw.

What dealer was it. I wonder if they would get rid of the kit. I heard it makes a difference and makes them run beter. On the other hand, I also heard the CU-2545 was the more aggressive CDI so I should leave it alone. :dunno:
