Can't help you specifically but I had this problem in my enclosed trailer and it was in the v-nose of the trailer on the floor structure where the ground wire screwed to the trailer. It was not screwed in a good spot and corroded over time. Cleaned aluminum surface and installed new screw and sprayed with battery protector problem solved. Aluminun likes to corrode with electrolisis.

Sounds like it's either the ground or the truck itself - the new GMC/Chev 1/2 tons and maybe 3/4 seem to have issues with trailers that don't draw the right voltage or return enough power to ground - where would the main ground wire to trailer be located to check it? I checked power at the interior switch when plugged in and got 0.18 V so leads me to think it's the truck not sending power properly.......TIA

 

Triton runs dedicated ground wires to each individual fixture on the trailer from the main tongue harness, no exposed wiring anywhere. I'd check the tongue harness myself, I'm on my third one in my clamshell. The little aholes love to nest in there for some reason. Looks like the TC has a splice at the rear of the tongue somewhere.
Also wouldn't hurt to hit that connection with some Deoxit D5 or good contact cleaner, could be some corrosion in that splice.

Thanks! Gonna do some cleaning of the plug but have also found there is a 7way to 4way adapter that helps with LED loading too with resistors or something - that may be next.

I took a quick Look at the tongue wiring but was cold today - it seems to go into the aluminum main box at tongue then must go up into trailer somewhere - I assume at the lower bottom LED market light so I guess I start there.

Would adding a jumper wore from the ground wire near the plug to the frame help?

 

I'd try and find that 4 wire flat connection at the end of the tongue harness, its either that connection or the mice likely exposed some wiring in the tongue and its shorting out the harness to the tongue.
None of the light fixtures can get ground from the trailer metal itself, its all from the wiring harness, pull any of the lights and there will be a white ground going directly to it. Triton does not connect any grounds to the trailer metal, so trying to ground the frame isn't going to help anything. Its all solid connections to every fixture from the 7 way connection at the truck.

 

Hi, With the wiring all grounded from the wiring harness, where would I look to find a faulty ground to the exterior fender clearance light (on the drivers side)? the white ground connection on the fender appears okay and I can get the light to work when testing it. Once I start to drive it goes out.

So doing a little looking around, the interior light may be the one exception to the rule where they utilized a chassis ground. All the exterior lighting will have dedicated grounds wired to it, which you said are acting up now as well i believe?

When I had issues with my Triton trailer, the left clearance light was out. Caused rear lights to flash, no matter what was active. Replaced clearance light from etrailer and all was good.

 

I am having the same issue - Drivers Fender Clearance Light is not working, it will flicker a bit from time to time. When I had the trailer in the shop and checked the wires, it was working but as soon as you start driving the light goes out. The wires under the black bracket on the fender are fine.
Was your light working at all before you replaced it? I am thinking I may be chasing a short and it might be behind the interior walls but I am not 100% where to look....

So found a chewed wire to the fender light in the frame that just have been shorting - had to fish a splice through but seems good now!

Hard to believe how may holes are on the channels on the triton trailer.....
