:blahblah1: without a doubt the yammy has the smoothest motor ever made. Im yet to see a Turbo z1 go down theres just to many safety features on motor. As for breaking down I was stranded on my Apex a few times we can thank the worst rear skid ever pruduced for that! broken w arm x 2 , broken transfer rod taking out track, cracked rails and tons of idlers . B oth sleds have there ups and downs but to answer the ? as to which is faster, there's just no comparison Cat is way out front.Yes they are fast, ran one on the lake last year with my RTX, it was faster but when we swapped sleds for a while it shook the crap out of me. There's no comparision when it comes to engine smoothness and build quality though, Yamaha still leads all there. The CAT towed terrible too, it ate a Cyl while just normal trailing and cost me a belt dragging it home. Best part of all was the owner then went home and grabbed his trusty ole back up sled, a 2000 SRX700, no more trouble for the rest of the day.
Arctic Cat leaves me with one question---- Why would anyone want to ride a Cold Pussy.[/b]
Ok...guess I gota force feed the yammi then.:blahblah1: without a doubt the yammy has the smoothest motor ever made. Im yet to see a Turbo z1 go down theres just to many safety features on motor. Fair???? :lol:force feed any yammie some air and then compare boosted to boosted, thats not really fair to cat though.[/b]
The dd on a cat takes power and the 1 ply cobra ballons to much...more power loss....and don't let the track get lose at all...two drivers are not enough for that sled...non extroverts at that. Not all 09 z1 turbos were fast out of the box, some had trouble cracking 100 mph, just ask mike knapp, nappattack on totallyamaha,he had one of the turbo z1 cats and stock for stock his attack would smoke it,now they should not be in the same zip code ,the cat should be out front, but that is not the case 100% of the time,i do think 2010 z1 will be a lot improved, and i dont think yammis rear proaction is anywhere near the worst skid in the world, any skid can get cracks in welds and have bogie wheel problems, that being said,06 was one of there worst years for what you described though, sense they have improved most all things mentioned for 08 to present.[/b]
Yup!! Mike had his hands full with the Z1 in the end he just could not get the thing to move, SOLD IT!Not all 09 z1 turbos were fast out of the box, some had trouble cracking 100 mph, just ask mike knapp, nappattack on totallyamaha,he had one of the turbo z1 cats and stock for stock his attack would smoke it,now they should not be in the same zip code ,the cat should be out front, but that is not the case 100% of the time,i do think 2010 z1 will be a lot improved, and i dont think yammis rear proaction is anywhere near the worst skid in the world, any skid can get cracks in welds and have bogie wheel problems, that being said,06 was one of there worst years for what you described though, sense they have improved most all things mentioned for 08 to present.[/b]
