I have a 05 600 edge touring, I don't do much 2up riding but like the long track. A buddy of mine with a 04 xcsp600 and I were comparing clutch specs the 05 has 64g wieght blk/green spring in the primary and a 64/42-65 helix with a red/ green spring. The 04 has 58g weights & a blue/white spring primary and 58/42-36 with red blue in the secondary. So here is what I done so far on my 05 changed gears from 21/41 to 23/40, drop to 60g wieght and from 420 jets to 400. Now just wondering if I should be changing helix ? Also was told that a change in valve springs may help performance ? and help or direction will be great. Thanks for now.

I can tell you that I have an 05 xc600 and it came with a blue white primary 58g weights, a red/white secondary with a 58/42-36 helix in it... Before I did any work to the engine I had went from the 58's to a 62 weight added an almond/red primary and used a red/pink secondary spring with the stock helix... I look back now and I think the red/pink secondary was to much for it and I should have gone to a black/green secondary being the final weight was a little to much, Stock was 200# black/green is 220# and black/pink is 240#.... basically I really liked the 58/42-36 helix with that combo... if thats any help, Also I went back to stock gearing which is a 23/39.

Thats some help but I would still like to know what the 600 touring 64/42-65 helix is going to do for me compared to the xc 600
58/42-36 helix ? loss or gain in performance?
