Possibly looking to get a 17 or 18 switch sp or assault. May stick with the 600 as i have had great luck with the 600 in my 13 switchback. For those that have the 600 in one of these models how does it perform with the 1.35 x 144? Enough power? List the good and the bad if any from your experience with these 2. I know the sp is lower on premium shocks and bars but its a lot lower price.

non-adjustable shocks and steel handlebar for the SP is the only difference between the two. So it comes down to how important is the adjustability of the shock package. I have the SP and have been able to get a good balance adjusting the preload. My days of hanging with the fast guys are long gone so this has been a good choice for me. The 600 motor is super quick, acceleration is superb. Got a chance to ride it in 12-18 inches of powder back in December and loved how it stayed on top of the snow. I have been very happy with my purchase.

I have the 600 2018 assault and it works very good and you can barely tell it is a 144. Either choice will be a good sled. if you are more laid back rider and only crank it up now and again the sp shock package will be fine. If you like to rip it a lot the walkers will do the job. And as far as the 600 you will keep up with the 800`s just fine.

Here's a weird deal. Last spring we decided to try the poo assault's and buy some 2017's later in the season looking for deals. I picked up a 800 for $11,200. on a rainy 49 degree day in February day. At that time my wife was looking at the SP 600.. but one sled at a time. Well the end of march we picked up a 600 (not sp) assault 2017 for $8,300. no e-start at a end of year sale. The weird thing is you couldn't touch a 600 Sp for under $10,500. Something with the dealers with them they were standing there price.

Really?. I picked my 2017 800 up in the first week in feb before the 2018's came out and got to ride it a few times so it wasn't really a leftover yet. The wifes NON SP 600 was picked up in april as you and is 2 years newer for $800. dollars more and its not the sp.. Doesn't sound like you got any better deal..

I’m on the brink of picking up a leftover 18. I know the 2019 will be out in a couple weeks. Part of me says wait and snowcheck but the other part sees a pretty good deal on the 18. Local. And they will take my trade albeit not the greatest trade value but poor winters and tons of new old stock flooding the market doesn’t help. And hard telling how costly a snowcheck model would end up being. Probably damned if I do, damned if I don’t. Oh well, there are much bigger problems one could have.

ADVANTAGES TO SNOW CHECKING A SLED. COLOR PACKAGES HAVE SOME NICE OPTIONS AND A 4 YEAR WARRANTY. THE NEGATIVE IS THAT THEY AREN'T REALLUY BUILT IN A LIMITED EDITION FASHION WHERE YOUR SNOW CHECKED CHOSEN COLOR PACKAGE WILL BE MORE RARE AND WORTH MORE. DEALERS ARE ALLOWED TO SNOW CHECK SLEDS AND WHEN THE SNOW CHECKED SLEDS HIT THE DEALER FLOORS YOU CAN CALL AROUND AND FIND ABOUT ANY COLOR YOU WANT. JUST CAN'T GET THE 4 YEAR DEAL THROUGH THE DEALER. ONLY 2 YEAR WILL COME WITH YOUR SLED. I ASKED MY DEALER HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE TO ADD THE EXTRA TWO YEARS WARRANTY AND IT WAS $2,400. I SAID "ALL SET" I'LL PASS.

IF SAVING CASH ON A NEW SLED IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A FANCY COLOR PACKAGE AND A 4 YEAR WARRANTY I'D BUY A LEFTOVER AND LOOK TO SAVE 3-4 GRAND. :bc:

We have a 15 800 pro S switchback and a 17 800 assault 144. Picked up a 17 600 switchback sp. E start 80. Mile demo last spring for 7200 . On tight trails the pro S can run a little faster. Than the 144 in. Sleds. But the 600 is a little smoother and quieter. Than the 800 cc motor. For the money I would go 600 switchback sp.

I'm super impressed with my SP, the only things I've changed are the windshield and skis. The Powder Pros are night and day in any kind of loose snow, couldn't be happier with them. Will probably switch the rear shock to a Walker next year for more adjustability, as I usually have a 60-70lb kid with me and the skid is just a touch soft with 325lbs of riders.

The 600 has great jam, very impressive!

I had a 2017 600 SP all this last season. it was awesome on the trails. The shock package for my 190# riding weight was on the stiff side. 16 MPG, 175 miles to a qt. of oil. Its an awesome sled.

BUT, when the straight stretch came around, got left in the dust by all 800's. It will not keep up to an 800 from any distance other than the 1st 300-500 ft.

I traded up to an 800.
