i recently purchased a 1.25 ripsaw from an arctic cat dealer and i'm putting on my 6. well these new tracks have those quiet rubber tabs on the inside of the track where the idler wheels run. they stick out about 1/8th of an inch, and i'm wonder
ingif you just drill the track and don't worry or what. my concern is that the base of the stud will stick out further allowing the wheels to hit it, and what if you get one half way on theraised part and half on the flat part of the track, would that allow the studs to be bound up. i plan to 144 double and singles up the middle using the 4-2 pattern. sorry so windy, but it's hard to explain, has anyone done this, and what are the results. thanks for the info!

What are you talking about. Putting a stud in the closed window area where it will run across a idler wheel? If so it's no big deal. The head of the stud should be sucked up tight enough that it doesn't stick out.

the pattern he's talking about runs studs right between drive lugs in the track, not the outside belt. the "quiet track" must have something different there. im not exactly sure what that track looks like.

the new ripsaw has a place where every idler wheel runs, there is like a 2 sided ramp, which is supposed to keep track noise down. you would have to see it on the inside part of the track, and no i'm not talking about the closed window part. i have a all open track, not a 3 window track. surely someone has one of these tracks, and has studded it. thanks

I see what your saying. I have a ripsaw but mine wasn't like that. Sorry can't help you out. Can't you just cut that away if you have a stud in that area?

that is what i'm trying to find out, if i need to shave those ramps off, or what has others done in the past. cause if i stud down the middle staying away from these ramps, i will have about 4 inches of track to work with, and i know you want to stay away from the absolute middle.
