Yes, you can remove the studs and still use that track. I never been a huge fan of studs I've seen my buddy's throw studs through heat exchangers many times.

Listen, I've dragged raced on grass and ice for over 50 years, & I trail ride very aggressively, never ripped out a stud. Angle backers make a major difference to prevent that from happening.If you ride aggressively, you WILL put a stud through a heat exchanger; it's a matter of time. Even if you check them annually, tighten, replace bent ones, etc.
I have plywood on the garage floor, and use a hi-wheeled dolly to move the sleds around.I don't want the damage to my concrete garage floor with studs. In 55 years of riding never needed or wanted them
