Sorry guys I meant 2/10 sec lost in 660 ft Down to 1/100 sec almost equal in 1/4 mi & reached 122 mph top end but not in 1/4 mile with this set up Wish it was that fast This is in relation to running stock gears but after 1/4 mile its 23/40 all the way Hope this explaines it self
thxs for answers byoffcr, now i know how to catch my buds piped and clutched 700 in the 1 mile pond race i was killing him out of the hole but would top out at 100-102 and he would go bye bye says hes running 115 on his speedo top speed
BIG DOG i also have a f7 sno pro and was wondering about the 23/40 gear change. i don't wanna lose any on bottom side but the top side gains you report sound nice. i was wondering if you think some clutching help would give you more bottom help but still keep the top speed close to the same?
Lf7 im the rookie hear ive been listening to byoffcr, he has spent alot of time playing with the clutch gear setups but let me tell you what i think ive learned of course rider weight will play apart in any set up im a big dog so im a little slower out of the hole than most but im still beating my buds yamaha triple 700 clutched and piped out of the hole by 2-3 sled lengths and beating him till 100 then he catches me and goes by now this is in a mile run, so i figure by switching to a 23/40 we would be close to even out of the hole but as we get near the 1/2 mile i should be ahead and walking away as he says he tops out on his speedo at 115 and i would be theoretically topping out at 120ish. it all depends on the distance raced so if you wanted to to faster to a 1000 you would probably keep the 23/40 and clutch it to help your ets out of the hole. in a 660 or 500 ft you would probably gear down to 21 /39? and clutch for hole shot!
whew ok byoffcr how did i do. did i pass or fail the test. at least im trying this 42 yr brain is a little slow! B)
Big Dog GODS proud of u young man your learning Bless You HE HE good job now if you run the 22/40 u can reach a speed of 115-117 at 7750 -7900 as fast as your buddy depending on your weight if u run 23/40 I think its to high for your weight 7750rpm =120.22 mph mph & 7900 rpm=122.50Dont thonk it will pull it as quick as 22/40 let me know Your stock gearing is 112 mph at 7750 & 114 at7900 rpm mph might be off by 1 mph
