Anybody know what speed should a stock 800cc sled run in a 660ft snow drag race ?.....Just trying to figure out what gearing i should be running. Thanks for any info.:dunno:

Define stock...

Depending on the snow conditions it can vary 10mph easy. A good one will run mid 90s on heavy wet snow in warm weather and well over 100mph on ideal snow conditions.

Stock is stock,no porting, no aftermarket pipe / can or y pipe....stock ride hight & trail studs . Only clutching and gearing changes......

85-90 would be my opinion. Any 800 running "well over" 100 mph isn't "stock" like what you're describing as far as your sled. Not that I take much stock in the shootouts but they run 100 in 1000 ft. So running "well over" 100 in 340 less feet is a bit much to ask.

With a little snow, 600's run easy mid 80's in the 660'. so I would think that 800's would run easy 90's.
my 600 Indy was about 7mph faster in the 1000'.. compared to the 660'.. so not much of a difference.

If we define stock as clutching and gearing changes only, I don't see how that's possible when the fastest stock sled at the shootout in December was barely over 100. In 1000 ft. I'm not saying it's not possible, but I'd be impressed if I saw it happen.

Consider the changes he mentioned and on snow. Clutching and getting only isn't getting into the 90s.
I don't think This is ISR he's referring to ??
But I would encourage the OP to check the class rules, to see what rules they are following and modifications allowed.
If you go up against an ISR stock class sled you will get beat with only clutching and gearing changes.

Hard pack, 2015 xf800 1.56 60ft, 4.29 330ft, 5.62 500ft.. 660ft was a 6.80 just under 100mph according to my dragy app.. Was still working on clutch changes but that's all I could find, clutch, gearing, valved shocks, race map ecu.

Thanks for the great info.....you seem to have a strong led....you got me by a couple of tenths and by almost 10mph @ 660 ft....mine has stock ecu ,,,,,couldn't find anybody to program it ! Lol

You gotta find out the specific rules a lot of these snow drags make up thier own rules and don’t go by Isr which is stupid not to imo. For example In isr. You can lower the sled etc. in some bullshit races you can’t. In isr you can lower sled , change clutching (oem clutches ) gearing ,jetting , timing , add , remove wheels , run race tracks and studs , tether cord. Add or relieve weight for a limit. Some more backyard stuff you can’t. They should all go by same rules to much confusion.

I was the fastest in sweden in stock class this year.
Best run was 6.95 but in race/tuned maximum 1000cc class.
The stock class here is maximum 1000cc, railextension/track swap allowed. Gearing/clutch tuning allowed. No engine tuning except changing jets if you running carbs.
Best ET was 6.95. 60ft 1.558sec.
Speed 150.83km/h and in mph it is 93.72mph.
Was aiming for takeoffs this year and it payed out. Lossed a bit of topspeed since i loaded up with more studs.
