I'm taking the electric start out of my 13 f800 ltd. I have the starter and starter mounting bracket out and now I'm trying to remove the wiring. There are three wire that run to the battery. One is a ground tom the starter and the other is power to the starter. The 3rd one has 4 wires that run to the starter solenoid. This one runs into the main harness behind the clutch. Can I just cut them and tape them up or what's the best way to remove them short of opening up the harness and taking them out at the fuse box?(I assume that's where they go)

I did one on a '11f8 and one on a f1000. (Older style chassis I know) but on those I was able to unbolt and unplug everything. I don't think I'd cut stuff.

Not sure this is an "unbolt" sort of fix. The harness with the 4 wires is t'd off the main harness behind the driven clutch. It then goes under the tank and back to where the battery is/was. In the link below i'm pretty sure it's the part of the harness right below the "11" 4 wires with the loops on them

I looked quick under Engine and Electrical, didn't see the main harnes, but I'll trust you. It only takes a few min to get the seat and tank off of there. Would it be easier to cut/conceal the wires back there if you had to?

Take the seat and the tank off and you can remove most everything , you'll still have left over wiring that you'll either have to cut or coil up - none of it is "hot" so you dont have to worry about it touching anything.

Best bang for the buck is to get a pull start harness wire it in and sell your e-start kit to someone.
