I am worried about riding my sled and having it die on the trail . It allready happened once . My dealer has no idea when the update kits are going to be in . Does anyone know how to fix this on the trail so I dont get stranded ? Also has anyone heard when the update kits will be in ?

I got all my updates yesterday. Friend went to dealer to get parts and dealer gave him all the updates. It only took about an hour to do my sled
1 smart valve
2 coil
3 bolts on skid
4 handle bar bracket

I'm also an auto tech by trade this helps it go faster

mission6, my fix was to take the seat or seal out of it. Get the valve out of the tank and you will notice two small tabs that hold the screen on. Very carefully squeeze the tabs together and separate the screen from the housing. Remove the white disc or seal from the plastic post. I also strecthed the spring SLIGHTLY for more pressure. Just make sure you don't lose the spring when you take it apart. Mine stayed put, but I was watching it. Re-install the screen and leave the white disc out of it. You now have the effectively removed the valve from the pick-up. Did it last night and rode for about 15-20 minutes with no problems. This is a temporary fix until you get the updated smart valve. I'm leaving mine like this, but mine doesn't have a warranty. You should get the proper fix. I'll wait and look at the new pick-up before I'll decide if I should buy one.

Temp fix that i did today was to pull the valve from the tank ( it was stuck!!!) very carefully drill a1/8 inch hole in the back of the valve at about half way across the radius. at about halfway between the edge and the center of the valve. be careful not to rip the screen when the bit goes through, although ive heard of people ripping the screen with out a problem. once i made the hole the valve opened nicely and i put 30 hard miles on 'er anyways it worked for me untill i get the new one.also when i discoverd the stuck valve it had 25 miles on it good thing she didnt burn down from being too lean...

mission6, I have no idea how to post a picture. Lucky I know how to use the camera. I can read 4 snowmobile magazines cover to cover before I can read the directions for the camera. I just learned how to use the clickable smiles. ;) The fix is very easy, you will see exactly what I mean when you take the smart valve out. I used a coat hanger to fish it out of the tank. Its the last one from the pump thats causing the problems.

How many smart valves are their? are they on the fuel line in the tank, does the fuel pump come out with the valves? so just fish out the line and that doen't cause any problems in the tank,i got 260 mi on my sled with no problems yet but going on a trip sat so i better ckeck them out and drill a hole in it.

Just reach your hand in the tank and fish out the valve. There are two valves, the one on the end is the one that I drilled(followed Dan's idea). Just remove the screen by prying with a thin screwdriver by the snaps(you'll see) remove screen with metal plunger(1/8" diameter) and small sping. Use a 1/8" drill and drill out from bottome to top where meatal plunger slides into. Drill all the way through the top. Dan claims this works. Very easy. Takes 5 minutes.
