I have a 1.5 on my 01zrt600 with no mods needed. I believe you can go up to 1.6" before needing to switch to a smaller drive shaft. I love mine on and off the trails. I could not tell you how it affected top speed because I had the dealer put the track on at delivery, so I never rode it with a stock track. Some say you'll loose some top MPH but the track I put on is quite a bit lighter than the factory one, so I might have gained some speed back. I'm not much into the whole top speed thing anyways, in fact I'm thinking of gearing and clutching it for this year, should be even more fun in powder.
RV sports in TRF has a few 1.4" tracks left on closeout for $279. I bought one last spring. They are the same patern as the F7SP track and have the lugs cut over the clips to clear the tunnel protectors.
