I am changing the track on a zl600 and was wondering if I should change the
bearings on the drive axle once i have it apart. I don't want to spend any
more cash than I have to but I remember years ago someone told me to get new
bearings for a machine that he was changing the track for me and I said no I
dont need them and 2 weeks later the bearing went. maybe bad luck?

i would definatly change them, even if there's only 1000 miles on them, but when u have them out u can tell if ur gonna wanna change them...my dad has had his out 5 times already since the first ride....the bearings went 2 times and he got a hole in the front heat exchanger another time...plus some other random reasons? idk dad tell him....

absolutely!!!!!!!your allready there and the cost and time are minor. the speedo side is probably ready to go any how. while your at it(if you intend to keep it)do the jack shaft also, especially the one behind the driven clutch.
