Sharing Tracks???

I am a totally rookie and just ordered my GPS unit, ram mount and VVmapping.

My question is can you share tracks/routes/trips once you have done them? So say I go on a guided off trail trip in houghton. Can I track that trip with a Nuvi 255w and then save it somehow then give to a buddy to load for his trip a week later?

If this is possible does anyone on HCS share trips. Would be interested in both lower or Upper MI trips? Looking for more off trail.

Your Nuvi will make a track and store it as a GPX file in the unit (GPS -> Garmin -> GPX). The current.gpx is the recent stuff, the Archived folder will have previous excursions.

You can open those files with MapSource or BaseCamp (from Garmin) as well as other programs. Can email the file to other people. The Nuvi units do not let you load tracks back into them (outdoor units like Oregon/Montana do this).

How do you get all of the tracks off your Garmin to base camp I just tried and it only got the last track ..
