well....lots of sled are running it, Rx-1s, 1M etc...put the wheels inside and your fine. I just want to know what I need to do it
the reason fcat tracks are 13.5 is because the skid, tunnel and seat area are narrower...same amount of track on the outside of the rails.....

the reason they put wheels on the outside this year was for a little more stability, thats it. and where my skid is about 13.5 inches wide, my sled will be fine in the stability dpt.

To me it sure doesn't look like the F-Cats have as much track outside the rails as a 15" wide track. Certainly, when you see an F-Cat with outside wheels there is not much track beyond the wheel. All 15 wide tracks have wheels inside the rails in addition to the outside wheels, some only one, others have two. I think there would be way too much flex in the track edge if you did not have wheels outside the rails. That would likely mean loss of performace, especially in cornering, and a much increased risk of the track jumping off the rails. I think a 15 wide track with no wheels outside the rails is the result of a failure and the owner hasn't noticed, or just hasn't bothered to fix it yet. Either way I think it would be a safety hazard.

dont think so...im pretty sure the rails on the f-cats are the same width apart as on the zr...

not to be an ass, but how much weight do you plan on saving...im not saying you shouldnt do this, but if weight is the only issue why bother... :dunno:

no, weight is not the only issue, 2 is, less rolling resistance, 3 looks freakin sweet...jleo, that would work fine on a all round sled that will see drag, trail boondockin time wont it?

and no, the skid on the fcat is narrower, not just the track, how do you think they shaved all the weight....by narrowing the skid so they could ditch some metal....and you call yourself cat guys..... :celebrating:

Nope, The tracks are 3/4" less on each side. When the F-cats came out, guys who wanted a long track were just cutting down a normal track to 13.5". Windows are in the same location. Check part # 0704-727, used both on the Firecats and ZR 900 in the rear skids.

Anyway, you should just need a shorter rear axle shaft and use your stock wheels. Aluminum .625 dia. shaft x measured length with 3/8-16 holes tapped in the ends.

ZL's run 3 wheels in the back vs 4 on the ZR's, also an option....

I really don't like the "missing wheel" look but it's up to you.
