I want to put ice scratchers on my 2015 600 SP. Any recommendations on flexible ice scratchers? I see Amazon has a brand named Duraflex. Are those any good? If not what does everyone recommend?

Thanks in advance

XCR did you have to move your idler wheel back to gain access to that hole? on my sled that idler wheel has two holes where that wheel is mounted. Separated by maybe an inch. On the left rail the idler wheel is in the back hole. Which would give me access to that hole you have it mounted. And on the right rail the idler wheel is in the hole that is a little further up blocking the hole you have it mounted to.

I moved the right one back a hole to gain access to the pre drilled hole in the slide rail. I thought about putting them behind the second idler like stated above but was afraid it would be too far back to get the full benefit of cooling and slide lubrication. I have tested the setup and no issues with added vibration or harmonics from what I can tell.

For a 121" it probably would be a tad too far back. For my 136" its pretty good... Snow goes up into the tunnel extension. Then falls onto track and gets thrown at the exchangers. Also found out the stuff that falls off sometimes flys out the sides/back, a few friends have tried to pass and got blasted with slush. lol

I'm pretty sure it will not be a problem. The shank of the scratcher sticks past the outer edge of the wheel so it articulates past the pinch point. One thing tho is the clearance between the shank and front of the wheel is about an 1/8" so if the scratchers loosens up it will run into the wheel. I used lots of loctite and tightened the crap out of it.

while I agree scratchers are a good thing for sliders and cooling.

we had a very successful test of a doo t-stat on a 14 std. rmk this past week end in N.H. the cooling system on this is identical to the indy. except the exchangers are longer.

2016 sks 155 ran 123-127 with scratchers down. the 155 800 rmk ran 105-109 with out scratchers.

indy and pro-r to be tested next.

Rick please keep us informed on your testing on the Indy and possible kit as that is the only issue I have with my Indy 600 SP. I know everyone says put on scratchers but my issue is why? I run with Cats, Yamahas, and Edges and I am the only one diving for the snowbanks. I extended my snow flap but have yet to try it.

I and many others went through this with the IQ800. There is no good reason for Polaris to not have fins on the coolers except to save some money. A stat may help, but not a cure all. Low snow is this cooling systems enemy more so than other sleds. Band aids are the best option. The stupid under tunnel welded crossover tube vs the old over the top crossover hose, and the full width exchanger's makes it near impossible to add extra cooling in the tunnel.

dscottdragon just have to say I'm jealous of your Scorpion TK, my dad had the 440 and I had a 340 to use/learn on. MANY great miles and memories associated with those sleds. I'm sure the wood grain dash stickers made it faster than monster stickers do today. LOL Thanks for the memories, makes it easier with no snow around here. Sorry for the sidebar discussion.
